Everyone needs a hobby. Something they look forward to coming home from work. I discovered I like working in the yard...who would have thought? I actually enjoy coming home and seeing how my plants are doing, pulling out weeds.

Also, get a dog. That will definantly fight the boredom and help with stress. They keep you busy and all your frustration just melts away when you see them at the door. The only bad part is sometimes you come home and they've chewed up something which can lead to more stress. My dog loves eating all my bananas and dragging my underwear into the backyard through her doggie door. Not so cute!!

Sometimes I give into the urge to sleep...to just escape stress, but other than a refreshing nap, it's counterproductive. I'm never bored as long as I can find something to read. For stress relief, try organizing a closet or cleaning. When your surroundings are orderly, you can think better. A long walk solves a lot of problems and always leaves you feeling better. A nice hot bath helps with stress, too, the old fashioned kind where you sit and soak. For some yoga is the answer and slow deep breathing will calm you down. I add to this mix my faith and a good sprinkling of scripture which reassures me I need not stress. anyway, because God is on the throne and I am not in control of all life's circumstances. I count my blessings and follow some corny old advice.....I turn my frown upside down! Life is too short and full of beauty to go through it stressed and bored. Blessings on you today.

When I feel stressed out about life or my job, I just go on over to the Marriage & Divorce section on Y!A and realize my problems are nothing compared to what those people are going through.

Seriously, try it. It's a great way to relieve stress while fighting boredom at the same time!

Write a journal. Document the things you would like to do for that hour, for the day, for the week, for the month. Keeping busy planning is definitely a key to fighting boredom and stress that comes with it.

U can do some exercises that induce ur body to produce substances that help improving one's mode ,this is effective believe me ,besides do something funny that helps u forget the thing that causes u stress ,listen to music u love and dance with it ,go out with a friend u like and say some jokes and laugh loudly ,watch a comic movie ,and above all u must have a willpower to overcome this mode and not to surrender . Defeat this boredom and overcome it .
Best of luck

to fight boredom- I will read a book.. but even then that only last about 4-5 hours before I finish the book. I like to write and answer questions on yahoo. My job is to only answer the phone all day (temp). They provide the books and I have Internet access all day long.

I'll give you only one: all the old habits do it in a new way.I.e: if you walk, do a short step and after a long one. not all steps equals :) if you speak, put attention on lips rather then on words; if you eat or write, use your left hand. when you feel boredom, try to feel also the absence of boredom ;) when you are stressed, observe in peace that you are stressed :))))
hard?

Meaningful, goal-directed activity is the answer to stress.
Something you enjoy is best, but it needs to be something fairly challenging. When you have it mastered, don't sit around and climb the same mountain over and over. Find something related, and master that. If you can branch out and find something that will improve the lives of others, it will become extremely rewarding and possibly turn into a career path or a hobby that brings you enjoyment, possibly income.
