A Podiatrist, formely known as Chiropodist- is a licensed physician. whereas a Chiropractor might not have a medical degree.
A Chiropractor, on the other hand,; is a complementary and alternative health care professional who can diagnose and treat mechanical disorders of the spine and musculoskeletal system with the intention of affecting the nervous system and improving health A chiropractor can not prescribe drugs unlike conventional medicine.
So the difference is in their particular speciality and the required medical degree with the ability to prescribe meds on the part of the Podiatrist.

A Podiatrist is the same thing as a Chiropodrist.

Nothing. They are one and the same thing. Podiatrist is the official name. As a profession they have battling for a name change for years. It is now fomally podiatry.
