Well dad, this is very hard...because we don't really know if she is thinking at all...or what kind of things that she feels or if she is at all cognicent..so,...to be sure,...bring her a cake, and light some candles and sing her happy birthday like you would if she was awake...hold her hand and kiss her on the forehead and do what you would do if she was wide awake and just resting in the hospital...and I am going to pray for her, to Father God and Jesus, that a miracle will happen soon...Talk to her, as if she were just closing her eyes...and squeeze that hand...God Bless Erin's dad, your cross is a heavy one x

Im so sorry. My dad was in a terrible car accident when I was 7 his brother (my uncle) died and my dad was in terrible shape. In a coma for months, Im 24 now and still cry thinking about it. I know the feeling but just never give up hope and praying. I know I was only 7 but I remember it like yesterday. I know thats got to be hard for her to be in a coma this long. I can only imagine the thoughts in your head. But I would try to talk to someone if you already havent. This truely helps. You will have this hole in your heart and it will not grow back no matter what happens, all you can do is try to heal around it. I hope you can find peace for yourself and Erin. You and your family are going to be in my prayers and good luck. Im very sorry again.

I had an aunt who doctors had to put into a medically induced coma for a time. She was in the hospital 8 months with a lot of crazy diseases due to her multiple autoimmune disorders. I'm actually shocked to see that you've kept her alive for 8 years. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just shocking because most people might have given up by now. The best thing you can do, as I'm sure you already know, is talk to her. Let her know you're there and that everyone is pulling for her. I admire your strength and courage you have for your daughter. Best wishes to your family!

I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself. Erin will get though this. The nurses and doctors are there for her. Make sure you take care of youself she will need you when see makes it though this and wakes up. Her brain just needs time to heal (sleep). Good luck to you and your family!
