I am continuing with therapy, just quit smoking and drinking, but feel I need to do more about my physical and emotional well-being. Besides eating well and exercise, what other things could I do to start on the road to a better life? What would you do?

Join some sort of club. Sports or hobbies and meet some decent people. Good luck!

Pick up a new skill or proffesion. You need to change something completely in your life. If everything else still seems the same in your life then how can you possibly move on to another and properly forget the previous. Just remember to love yourself and whatever your doing and dont worry about what others may think. Im sorry to hear that, you try to be strong.

You need to refocus. Think back to the woman you wanted to be and dreamed of being before you got into this abusive relationship.

Remind yourself of your past goals that you may not have reached, yet. Start working on reaching those goals today. . .day by day and step by step.

Remind yourself that you have value and that never again will you allow anyone to strip or limit your value. You are capable of doing anything you want to do. . .anything you are willing to work toward.

Good luck to you on your new life. . .taste the freedom of no more abuse. . .learn from where you have been and keep your eyes focused on where you want to go. :)

I am glad you left, you are a strong person to do that, and don't ever let anyone tell you different...I know this may sound like a hard thing to do, but I would forgive the person who did this...I know that when I have forgiven people for the most heinous acts, the Lord takes the hurt and anger from me, and I move forward and can live without the memories...it is a very healing experience, when you can forgive the worst people...and Thank the Lord for the wisdom and strength He has given you to move forward...the rest will fall in place...In Jesus name, Amen and good luck!...and GOPAL, maybe you should spend less time trying to figure out women's bra habits and criticizing situations you obviously don't know anything about? my goodness...reading your questions is very telling..

Stop blaming everyone else for your choices.

When you made these choices you knew they were wrong and now you must live with the consequences.

The right choice is not the easy choice.

When you know something is wrong stop it and stand up for yourself. Every interaction you have with someone determines how they will treat you.
