No you were a genius to release your god into the oblivion...

No, I do not think you were a fool for believing in God. I also believe in God. There are several reasons why I believe in God.
The first reason is that I see the complexity of the universe and life, and I cannot logically conclude that it all came about by chance. Such things as photosynthesis, DNA, and the human gene are so elaborate that they must have had a Designer.
The second reason is that there must be a source on which all things depend. That is, for there to be anything at all contingent in the universe, there must be at least one thing that is not contingent, something that is necessary throughout all change and self-established. This could either be a self-existent God or a self-existent universe, and the universe does not behave as if it were self-existent.
The third reason is morality or conscience. Human beings have an innate sense of right and wrong that could not have come from a mindless universe or a desire for self-preservation. The moral law that is inside of us must have come from a Moral Lawgiver.
But personal experience is the main reason why I believe in God. I have had numerous encounters with God, and I have been too close to Him to say that He does not exist. These personal encounters were not things that I imagined or faked, but were real experiences that have had a lasting effect on my life.
In the end, I have never found any reason to question the existence of God, and I doubt that I ever will.

No. That would mean that over 90% of the world's population are 'biggest' fools, including some very intelligent people.

I am a very logical person and like to think I'm quite scientific but I'm also a Christian. I don't go to church (social phobia) but He's a big part of my life. The two of us are working some financial problems of mine out at the minute.

Basically. There are things we can't observe and test in the normal scientific way .... emotion being one of these forces, spirituality being another.

However, we don't know in what form a supreme being comes which has led to such a wide range of beliefs over the whole planet.

However, it is interesting to note that on all archaeological digs, one of the main feature of any settlement is a shrine or temple dedicated to some sort of deity. That can be observed and proves one thing.

All through the history of homo sapiens, mankind has felt the need to worship. The object of this worship is not so important as to why the need is there. It keeps anthropologists pretty busy.

Yes, you were a fool... Read on...

18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God....

(1 Corinthians 3:18-29)

41 O then, my beloved brethren, come unto the Lord, the Holy One. Remember that his paths are righteous. Behold, the way for man is narrow, but it lieth in a straight course before him, and the keeper of the gate is the Holy One of Israel; and he employeth no servant there; and there is none other way save it be by the gate; for he cannot be deceived, for the Lord God is his name.

42 And whoso knocketh, to him will he open; and the wise, and the learned, and they that are rich, who are puffed up because of their learning, and their wisdom, and their riches—yea, they are they whom he despiseth; and save they shall cast these things away, and consider themselves fools before God, and come down in the depths of humility, he will not open unto them.

43 But the things of the wise and the prudent shall be hid from them forever—yea, that happiness which is prepared for the saints.

(2 Nephi 9: 41 - 43 ... The Book of Mormon - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/2_ne/9/42-43#42 )

So, if those who believe in God and totally cast of the vain things of this world are fools, then you WERE a fool. But it seems that it can't be avoided. I'd much rather be a fool with God, against the world, that be a fool with the world, against God.

Take care, and God bless you. xo

No, but you may have expected to much, many lose faith because when they ask for help it doesn't come, but we make our own problems and sometimes we need to learn by our mistakes, if a friend let you down a couple of times would you dismiss this person as no longer a friend, just because they couldn't be there for you, a true friend would consider why they weren't there. Ask yourself this how can we learn if every time we have a problem we ask God and then it's solved, don't give up on God, God never gives up on us even when those amongst us fail God, and no longer have faith. Sometimes I wish that i did not believe, but I have seen to much, and know to much, I know God is real, spirit is real, and in time all will know this, but for have faith in yourself, and never mind God, that will return if it's meant to

Many people with great minds have believed in god. It doesn't make one a fool.

After all, many of us have an interest in explaining the world around us and, for many, god is a way of doing so.

Nobody can tell you the 'truth' because it is different for each of us. It is probably more foolish to stick to a viewpoint despite evidence to the contrary and our own doubts.

Yes, i am sorry to say this, u r a fool to have believed in God. All of us who say, "We believe" or "we dont believe" are foolish people. I say so, becasue those who say " We believe", have not seen God. For them God is not a reality. And those who say " We dont", where did they search for him, and what is for them, the meaning of God.

This reply may confuse u because it may be new. Pls stay with it. Firstly, why do we believe, not just in God, but in a lot of other things? What makes u to believe ? U dont 'believe' that ur are alive. Do u? U r alive, that's a fact. So keep aside all opinions, quotes, statements supporting or opposing the existence of God and try to find out on your own on what God is ?

Reading J.Krishnamurti may help you. But its up to u.

Love, Pradeep.

Only if it caused you harm in someway. I used to believe in Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy and Nooky Bear. I've suffered no permanent harm from this, at least now you know the truth.

There are three kinds of fool:-
The fool who says there is no God,
The fool who says there is but lives as if there isn't and
the one who is prepared to be a fool for God.

You were wise to believe.
