I wanted to let you know that green tea is real tea, not herbal tea. It has not been fermented like black tea, and retains more antioxidants. While it is good for you in many ways, my favorite is that it stabilizes blood sugar. I can barely stand sweets of any kind when I drink it regularly. It is great for your immune system (It keeps my psoriasis cleared up after many years of trying every treatment available with no results). It prevents cavities, fights cancer, and will give you an edge in losing weight, although it won't cause the pounds to fall off by itself. I've never tried the capsules because I love drinking the tea. Don't buy the decaffeinated kind, though, unless you must. It tastes awful to me. One more thing--brew your own. I doubt that the stuff in bottles will benefit you much, and probably has too much sugar.

It is supposed to help with weight loss. I know a girl lost quite a bit of weight drinking this, but personally i think it`s due to the fact she wasn`t drinking her normal tea with sugar and milk in and the green tea had nothing to do with it. She was just saving calaories on milk and sugar - which are both fattening. See how you can be fooled ? Still good for you though - cleans out your liver etc.

research supports the idea of green tea as having more antioxidant properties than anything else(antiosidants neutralize free radicals in the body, thus aiding the body's immunity-nothing to do with weight). want to lose weight? weight gain is caused by any combination of the following: predisposition in genetics (ie hypothyroidism-in which the hormone thyroxine is produced too little and the metabolism is slow), diet(exerice, lots of vegetables and fruit, side of protein and carbs-that's your perfect diet), and a variety of other things you can google.
drink the tea for its immunity benefits but don't expect mass weight loss

I like the taste of green tea. One of the benefits is that I drink green tea to replace those carbon drinks.

I asked the same question a couple of days ago and it seems that they do work. I just started taking the capsule beacuse I don't like to drink tea.
Note: Don't get your nose too close to the bottle. Whew! The smell is powerful! Good luck!

here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:
cancer
rheumatoid arthritis
high cholesterol levels
cariovascular disease
infection
impaired immune function
The secret of green tea lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.
