My boyfriend is suffering with really bad knee ache. It used to be a few times a week, but now its every day. He is only in his 30's, and Im wondering if it is Arthiritus. He finds that heat helps the pain. It is not swollen or red or hot - but it just aches and hurts him. Any advice please?! Or remedies which may help if it is Arthiritus? Thanks!

I'm 33 and have severe arthritis which began suddenly at age 28. So, yes it could be. I suggest supplementing his diet with glucosamine sulfate and msm which you can find at GNC. The Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org has a database of helpful foods and herbs.

With no swollen, red or hot areas, it is more likely to be osteoarthritis than rheumatoid arthritis. There are many forms of arthritis and similar, but different diseases which share some of the same symptoms. He needs to see a doctor and describe his specific symptoms. If the docotor determines that it is arthritis, then he needs to see a rhuematologist, a doctor who specializes in arthritis.

I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Two years ago I could barely walk it was so bad in my knees.

Tell him to go to Ice packs. It will cool it down instead of heating up the tissue. The tissue is swollen and inflamed, that is why it hurts and is radiating heat. ICE PACKS ARE IMPORTANT. Also take Ibuprofen two every four hours.
It is for reducing swelling and inflammation.

When my left knee was at its worst, my Dr. prescribed one of those steel hinged knee braces. I almost didn't get it. it was sixty dollars at a medical type store. But it worked immediately. After the first weekend I could use the knee and from then on I wore it as needed and healed the knee completely.

It is truly worth the investment. I still have RA but you can work on certain joints and improve or heal the problem.

Good Luck.

To know for sure he should have a simple blood test taken from the doctor. He could also have cartiledge problems in the knee. To know for sure he should set an appointment with his doctor.

He needs to see his gp. I have arthritis and that`s how it is. It could also be the cartilidge in his knee - that`s painful. Only gp can tell him after x ray.
