Was your hair chemically straightened? If so, it depends on how curly it was before straightening and how coarse you rhair is.

If your hair was very curly before straightening, your hair would be quite damaged now, as chemical straightening changes the actual cellular structure of the hair. Therefore, your hair won't hold the hairdye very well.

If your hair wasn't very curly before straightening, then your hair would still be in good enough condition to hold quite a bit of hair colour.

Also, is it a permanent or semi-permanent garnier product? Either way, don't expect the hair colour to last as long as it says on the box because your hair has been straightened.

One more point, wait at least 2 weeks after straightening your hair, to dye it. Otherwise, your hair will "un-straighten".

You certainly can dye straightened hair.

However, since you are now talking about double-processing your hair, I really would recommend going to a salon for it. I would also recommend waiting a couple of weeks before doing the second process (in this case, the dye job).

The hair shaft is actually pretty delicate; and if you start layering on the chemical treatments yourself, you do run a greater risk of really damaging your hair. Leave it to the professionals! And do let your stylist know up front that your hair has been chemically straightened.

Good luck!

I dye my hair for all time. approximately thrice a month. I straighten it each and every morning and night. it is nevertheless finished and has a lot of physique. For every physique with skinny or thinning hair i don't recomend death it or styling it. Blow drying is undesirable sufficient. The worst element I ever did replaced into get the colour on my straightener. yet you need to not see any spots in the hair. edit// It additionally relies upon on the products you employ and definitely one of those dye you used. Ammonia loose is a thank you to be!

If you mean chemically straightened your hair, you can dye your hair after 2 weeks of hair treatment. This is my own personal experience.

I cannot speak to Afro-American or African hair tho'.

WHY NOT GO WHERE YOU STRAIGHTENED YOUR HAIR AND TALK TO THEM . THE PRODUCT YOU HAVE, EXCHANGE IT FOR SOMETHING ELSE.
