As the lone smoking gun that a person is using someone would strongly suggest not using that tip to make life choices. Its' a tip that should be stored in the back of your mind dormant only to be used in combination with the other and possibly destructive signs of being used.
No healthy and trusting relationship can be forged by believing this advice at face value. It would be a slippery slope to destroying ones self confidence; what with always interpretting every word, action, or inaction, and always being unsure and insecure of self.
When in doubt just go with the easy solution.

If he is a player or using u why would he miss you? It doesnt matter if a player likes u he wont settle down! He will use u and cheat on you! Rather stay away from guys like that! They dont want anything serious but they do want one night stands.

I have a very close friend who loved this guy... even after he cheated on her constantly. He was so cute, and so sweet with his words - always saying the kindest, most complimentary things to her (he missed her, etc) that she couldn't help loving him.
The thing with some guys is that they are capable of "loving" many women at once. They love each of the women, and miss ALL of them!
The only way to tell whether a guy would cheat on you or not is to assess his values. Does he truly believe it is wrong to cheat?

that is a hard question to answer because it depends on the guy, me for example, i wouldnt say i miss you simply because i know that if i like you i will make it a point to see you again soon, and i wouldnt just say i like you, i would find a more romantic way of showing it. then there are the players that will just use you. so really you just have to use good sense when you look at a guy.

No...just most guys don't wanna be vulnerable. It's easier for the girls to tke all the heat (according to them), but trust me...I;ve known so many guys that (found out from other guys) are worse than chicks!! Guys, unless they are super sensitive, will not tell you they miss you. They might even ask you if you miss them or like them (saying it very suave to boost their ego), that's when you take the chance to say "do you?"
If they call you, they are interested in something.....but what it is, you gotta figure for yourself.

That's a big generalization, so I say no.. there is no truth to it.
There's no easy way to tell if someone is using you in a relationship; warning signs do exist, such as if your partner treats you like dirt.

Most "players" are liars so it's hard to determine what this person would or wouldn't do. If you are dating someone and you are having doubts, you're probably having doubts for good reason.
