----------------The best- The one who tells you he'll have more respect for you for making a bad decision than being afraid to make any decision.
The worst- the one that when you go to him for help he brushes you off, but when you mess up, you should have known better.
---
As a supervisor, I often let people figure out how to do it themselves. If they did it right, I praised them, if they goofed up, I was quite gentle, and I gave them credit for trying to come up with a better way. To do this, you must be prepared to defend them if they made a mistake. I never had a problem doing that.

A good manager will bring out the best, a bad manager will ignore your contributions/ assets and bring out the worst.

The best managers are the ones who can motivate their people to give their best. Subordinates give their best when there is mutual respect in the work place.
The worst managers are exactly the opposite. They use a stick to drive people. It may work for a time but it won't work all the time. I hope this helps you.
Peace and blessings!
