You know Jesus existed, but you don't know what He saved us from?! He died and resurrected for our sins. It's through Him that we have salvation. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Well, I am a Muslim and we believe that Jesus was a Prophet of God, but we don't believe that he was the son of God or that he died for our sins. You're right; it doesn't make sense. I was a born into a Baptist family and converted to Islam about 4 years ago. We believe in the immaculate conception of Jesus and we believe that Jesus will return and lead mankind into the one true religion of God, worshipping only God. We do not believe in original sin or that people are born sinners. We believe that each and every person is accountable for their own sins, and that Judgement Day is the day when all wrongs will be made right and children will not suffer because of the sins of their parents. Email me and I'll tell you more. The entire concept of the trinity does not make sense and was not even a part of Christianity until 300 years after the death of Christ when Constantine of Constantinople incorporated many pagan beliefs (including the concept of a trinity, Christmas, and Easter) into Christianity and the people were forced to believe this or be put to death. Very similar to the way that 90% of the Africans who were captured and brought here to be slaves were Muslim and forced into Christianity. These are historical facts. Look it up. Email me for more info. Teena

Death! If you are born once you will die twice, and if you are born twice, you will only die once, and is passed from death into eternal life, because of what Jesus did for us on the cross.
The sin nature carries with it a three-fold death. Spiritual, Physical and Eternal.
Because of Adam and Eve both died - Adam was some 400 or so years later. But the bottom line is - He DIED!
He also die a spiritual death as well. For the spiritual communication link between him and God was severed.
And if it had not been for God killing a lamb in the garden to provide the atonement / covering for Adam and Eve, in the coats of skin, they would have died an eternal death as well.
A picture or foreshadow of Jesus the Lamb of God who gave his life to provide an everlasting atonement for sin.
PS: Constantine was an Antichrist! That's why the believers of that time fled to the hills and started hiding in caves and catacomb, as he had his Church / State flourished.
That is History as well!
A lot of what Constantine incorrporated into Catholicism was beliefs of the body of the Church that fled to the hills.

Teena: "Very similar to the way that 90% of the Africans who were captured and brought here to be slaves were Muslim and forced into Christianity"
While I can believe that muslim slaves may have undergone forced conversions to christianity after their arrival here, it is my understanding that most of the slaves were already african christians before capture. The american slave trade was 18th century, not 10th.
Not that it makes a LOT of difference. Those previously free christian africans had probably been forcibly converted "in situ" by christian missionaries out doing their "good deeds" for god and country. Might the same be true of african muslims?

Jesus saved people from permanent death or damnation to hell that was the punishment for breaking laws of Moses (10 commandments +100 pages in Exodus and Deutronomy)
Jesus (and the rest of new testament) say that you can avoid hell by making faith & love the driving force of your words an actions.

According to extra-biblical manuscripts of some of the earliest Christians, Jesus didn’t save anyone, he was just a man something like the Buddha. Now let me see, the mainstream claimed Jesus did miracles, people coming out of graves, virgin births, etc., and the others said no that’s nonsense and mythology, now I wonder which group got it right.

we have all sinned. We cannot enter heaven with sin on us because God canot look upon sin. Jesus lived a perfect sinless life, then sacrificed His life on the cross while bearing the load of the sins of the world. If we ask Him to, He forgives our sin. We are saved from sin and can enter heaven at our death.

Do you expect to live for 100 more years. I expect to live forever. Therefore I am saved from death. Not physical separation form this rather screwed up reality but from an end to my reality and my existence. That is what He saved me from.

Ourselves...we turned our back on Him and fell into sin, which sealed our fate at being bound for Hell (which was created for the Devil). Jesus saved us from that fate.
