will a mustang cobra engine fit into my 1998 mustang gt? and if so which will fit with fewest modifications? car has the automatic 4r70w transmission.

i dont think it would cost too much. im a professional mechanic willing to buy and engine and trans if necessary. id prefer to keep the automatic though. its how the car came.

You would be better off just buying the Cobra from that year. You will have to MAKE your car accept the manual conversion, and the ECU would have to be changed along with the wiring, and the tranny would need changing. A 1998 Cobra can be found for around $8,000 - $13,000 depending on mileage, condition, ETC. the conversion would cost almost double that.

Ford doesn't use the automatic transmission with the Cobra engine. I'm sure you could get the engine to fit though.
