Okay here is the question. Applicant wants to renew his US Passport. The problem is, applicant reacquired Philippine Citizenship, making applicant a dual citizen. According to US Passport Renewal Application, if applicant has performed certain acts, such as acquiring another nationality, they have to attach supplementary explanatory statement under oath attesting to his other citizenship. My question is...

If you have been in a similar situation, did you have trouble renewing your US passport?

Did State Department give you a hard time?

What information exactly is needed in the supplemental explanatory statement?

Thank you.

i have never heard of this happening ?
to renew your US passport , you submit the old one, your birth records(consular birth certificate)A former natural-born citizen, who was born in the Philippines, shall submit the NSO-authenticated copy of his or her birth certificate.
2 pictures ,perhaps you should have given your citizen paper that they gave you on becoming a US citizen ? but ? it is not necessary on renewal only on your first passport application ,now you may have to provide them with a oath ? just write them a letter stating that you renewed or reacquired your Phillipines citizenship under act
Republic Act No. 9225 , amendin for the purpose Commonwealth Act No. 63.
RA 9225, which took effect on 17 September 2003, declares that former natural-born Filipino citizens who acquired foreign citizenship through naturalisation are deemed not to have lost their Philippine citizenship under conditions provided in the Act.
here is the home page of the gov. of the Phillipines explaining on reacquired citizenship :
http://www.gov.ph/faqs/dualcitizenship.asp
once you are an US citizen , you do not have to make an oath on passport # renewal #

Do not present any application for a citizenship in other countries. Apply for a passport as a US citizen.

In this problem, submit requirements that you can be issued an American passport by following what the INS wants because they want to make sure that you are really an American citizen.

there is not any such element as a "twin nationality passport." in case you carry valid citizenship in better than one united states, you're able to desire to persist with for a passport from each and every united states in which you carry citizenship. you will pick data of your birthright to US citizenship, in the journey that your father became a US citizen on the time of your beginning or in case you have been born interior the U. S. whilst your mum and dad lived in US, and then persist with for US passport. you do no longer might desire to attend until eventually your uk passport expires, honestly, you need to not wait!
