as much as you might want to please your father, do you really want to look back in life and think about how happy you could have been if you had done what you wanted? take cooking1 you father isn't going to be there forever and he really wouldn't be a great father if he didn't support you 100% in your decision, because it's your life
ps....why is this in the singles and dating category?

You really need to have a talk with dad. Ask him if he wants you to live his life or your own. Living his life means taking the courses he wants you to take. So ask if he will outline the rest of your life the way he wants you to live it. Keep moving in this direction until he realizes that he really can't live your life, that you have to do it and you have to make your own successes and mistakes. Parents may genuinely know what is best for their kids, but, and this is an enormous BUT, the parents aren't going to live the kids life. Parents have already lived their own lives. This is tough for parents to recognize and has to be brought home to them with pointed arguments. If dad want you to live his life then tell him he has to give you a blue print which will allow you to totally avoid mistakes, (just as he must have) AND be fantastically successful (also as he must be). Your first job is to educate dad ...then figure out what you want to do.

Maybe take both... and choose which one you like. And advice here: Your dad is not going to be cleaning bed pans during nursing school and enduring the tough fight in it. I have a sister in nursing school.. and if you heart is not into it don't bother going in it. Go with your heart.
