Believe in yourself
Be brave...but it's ok to be afraid sometimes
Study hard
Give lots of kisses
Laugh often
Don't be overly concerned with your weight, it's just a number
Always try to see the glass half full
Meet new people, even if they look different to you
Remain calm, even when it seems hopeless
Take lots of naps..
Be weird whenever you have the chance
Love your friends, no matter who they are
Don't waste food
RELAX
Take an occasional risk
Try to have a little fun each day.
...it's important
Work together as a team
Share a joke with friends
Fall in love with someone..
...and say "I love you" often
Express yourself creatively
Be conscious of your appearance
Always be up for surprises
Love someone with all of your heart
Share with friends
Watch your step
It will get better
There is always someone who loves you more than you
i found out the longer you sit there and feel bad about yourself, the longer your gonna feel depressed. You wonder why nobody cares, why nobody wants to be around you. The reason why nobody wants to be around you is because YOU ARE DEPRESSED. you bring them down when you come around. You git ti get up and fight your through it. The minute you get up and change your attitude about what's going on, the other stuff starts to change. whatever is kicking you and trying to push you down, i say kick it back. The first thing you got to do is open uo the curtains, put on some good music, take a shower, put on a good face, and open up the door and go out and see the world.Your sitting around hoping someine will fix it but, it's got to be fixed through you. You can't say "please, god help me." God is not gonnaa do anything if only try and help yourself to.Don't hold things back. Say it.Deal with that emotion
These are the same principles I go by for my own, and the same I am teaching everybody. Always look to the positive. There is a positive in every situation, even the bad ones. They are learning experiences. Look to how you handle a bad situation, and learn from how you acted, and see how you can turn the negative into a positive next time. Every situation helps us to evolve, so every situation is good. Life is not worth wasting any moment on depression. I did for far too long, and I'll never do it again! But I don't regret my past, it has made me who I am, and I have learned a great deal about life from the way
I used to be. You can overcome anything. Nothing can stop you from enjoying life.

Make taking a walk with your dad, a daily exercise for the both of you. Getting in touch with nature is very healing to the mind. If possible, walk in a park, or along a river, or the beach, somewhere where you can get lost in how beautiful life is. It may help you open up, and talk about your emotions and fears. I believe medications are key to getting your system back on track, lack of serotonin, causes depressive mood swings, the medication can help level things out. There are many different types of medication that can be utilized, finding the one that has the least amount of side effects, will help you. Counseling, either in house, or as an out patient, I think would be beneficial. Don't let the depression continue to effect your life, seek help from your doctor, you have suffered too long. Good luck.

HI THERE...If you noticed that just the past eleven months have been down time for you, perhaps you can take the time to trace it back to an event that happened that brought you down to a place that you never quite recovered from. Looking over your diary or journal might help you discover the source if you keep such records. Otherwise, ending it is not an option...is that clear?. Life is full of ups and downs and sometimes we have to take it as it comes.....but not laying down...know what I mean?...Sometimes depression can make us slow and take our motivation away...the answer?...motivate!...I tried medication for a while and yes the side effects were lousy. I eventually took a good hard look at my lifestyle and habits and realised it's time for a change. I started some new activities that brought enjoyment and satisfaction as well as started excercising. As a result I now live medication free and realize that when I get down is usually when I have too much time alone. I know it's hard to get motivated when you're down but taking action almost always produces good results. Now if someone has unresolved past issues, that can surely cause ongoing struggles with sadness but for the most part, a pill wont quite do it...talking about it helps.....we are responsible for our happiness and asking for help is a sign of strength not weakness.....don't give up....and for people with depression, always look at what's good in your life and build on it....surround yourself with positive and the negative will shrink....and in the case of clinical depression or manic depression...sometimes the medication needs to be adjusted and allow some time (4-6 weeks) for the meds to take propper effect....mental ilness (or depression) can be treated....all the best for graduation!...RIGHT?.....Keep talking stop isollating and you'll work it out!

Promise you won't get mad. See a psychiatrist.
No, I/m not saying you are wacko.
A psychiatrist would be able to help you find a med that doesn't have the side effects you'd rather not have.
A friend had the same problem, really got upset when a shrink was mentioned. But he finally relented. There were no " did you hate your mother" type questions. just what reaction did you have to what?
It came down to " try this. Did it work, no, try that. " after 3 visits, he found one which didn't give him problems and what a difference!!! If you were having problems with heart medicine, you' see a heart specialist, right?
Think if over. I don't know how your ins works , your family MD might have to give you a referral, but think about it.
Good luck.

I know how this feels to be where you are, Well to tell you the Truth I am where you are so I can feel your pain, I cant take any of the meds because they make me so sick. I am trying to do this on my own. No one will understand depression and I am sure its hard for you to even understand it. You need to think about your thoughts and when you feel that depression start to run through your body you need to write it down. Then maybe that can give you some stuff to talk about with your dad. Your dad is worried but if he gets depressed he can't help you because he is going to need to help himself. So just ask him to sit and listen to you. IF you need to break down and cry ask him for his shoulder to cry on if you need to scream ask him to understand. You just need to talk to him and let it all out. Don't be afraid to show your emotions. That's what I am working on right now, I am also reading a book that is helping me a lot its called you can be happy no matter what.Find a book that can help you look at things different. Good luck and I hope you beat this. One more thing as hard as it is you need to try to keep a good outlook on it and try to beat this depression and don't let this depression beat you. Be strong

Since your dad has a prognosis - manic despair - you would ask him and even speak for your possess healthcare professional approximately how that may be handled with prescription medicines. Talk for your dad and mom each approximately how therapy would make existence higher for everybody if he took them with a healthcare professional's supervision. If your mum ever says she's looking ahead to him to get his inheritance, remind her that not anything is a definite factor on this existence. In the period in-between, you'll have a few method for making existence extra bearable in the course of his bouts of intimidation. You would without problems depart, for illustration, and take your brother and sister with you. Go to a relative's condo, if viable, and if no longer that, then a well buddy's or neighbor's condo. Tell your mum that that is insupportable and possibly she is going to aid you and aid you while you need to depart the condo in the course of the ones episodes.

You might benefit from this (enter "depression" in the search box on the site in the source box below) if you don't want those side effects you're describing. Unfortunately, doctors and psychiatrists know little more than pushing pills (which are actually poisons and toxic to the body). It is NOT normal for you to feel so depressed, so something within your body is likely "out-of-whack," so to speak.

Get out in the real wild country for a few days so you can get back a sense of life. Go to a National Park and camp out. You will be surprised how great a treatment it will be.
Oh! Just don't go in that time of month, or you may get more of a shock treatment then you deserve .
