First I have a couple of questions for you to really ponder.
1. Why do you want to practice witchcraft?
2. What lead you to this path?
3. What do you expect to gain from it?

If your answer to ANY of these questions is "power", forget it.

READ!!! Find out which denomination you would prefer. You may find your answer in, Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft.

I would not bother with any type of initiation or gathering of ritual tools until you find which path you are going to follow. Most tools are not necessary in all denominations. I have much more than has been listed, but then, I have been practicing for a very long time. My particular path essentially needs only a Staff, Dirk (athame) and a Keek-Stane (or crystal ball). Other tools can be acquired as needed.

I am Pecti-Witan (aka Hedge Witch, not Wiccan) a "solitary" practitioner of "the Old Religion", and have been for many, many years. Being a "Witch" is nothing like what is portrayed in movies or on Television. There is nothing flashy about it. we are fairly simple people with "abilities" that everyone has, ours are just honed and utilized. Lots of research and practice. There is a lot to learn when you are dealing with herbal, mineral and candle magick.
I read tarot cards, rune stones and utilize a number of other tools for divination but would NEVER charge anyone for anything I do! Besides, I do not do "readings" or "cast spells" for others on demand. That sounds more like a con game to me!
Now as for what I did to start, well, it seemed to come naturally to me, (my mother was a witch and my great grandmother was the daughter of a Comanche medicine man) and I believe this is not my first life (nor the last) as a witch. I have always had a deep respect for nature and have an innate ability to communicate with animals. When I was very young my parents encouraged me to learn about all religions, so I did. And I encourage you to do the same to find your true path. Books are an excellent source, providing you get the right ones, there are some I would avoid (Ravenwolf). I prefer Scott Cunningham. If you can connect with other practitioners that would also be a good way to learn. One question you must ask yourself is are you looking for the structured system of a Coven or would you prefer the life as a "Solitary"? Buckland has some very good books outlining both. But my favorite book is still "Wicca, a Guide for the Solitary Practitoner". It is a good place to start (or affirm).
As you have probably noticed, you also have to have a thick skin, because even in this "advanced" civilization there are still those who believe we worship the devil (LMAO), and would rather turn a blind eye to the world around them. Some will even admit that they think we should be burned at the stake! Ignorance knows no bounds.
If you are very young, expect ridicule and really stupid requests to do "Magic" like they do on TV or in movies. It is not going to make you cool. Expect people to tell you that you are going to Hell. You will probably lose friends. Just being honest with you.
I hope you find the answers you were looking for.

Hi,

You ask for advice on becoming a witch?

People do not 'become' witches by deciding 'Oh! I think I'll be a witch today.' Many people practice witchcraft mostly white (or good) witchcraft and some the darker arts.

The many that do feel they were 'born' to it and felt drawn into the company or were among family 'practitioners'. They hold their beliefs very seriously (at least as seriously as devotees of any other, more generally acceptable, religion) To them it IS a religion, a way of life and they live by a code of behaviour and voluntary 'rules' that are as strict as any other religion.

If you are just curious, as your 'question' seems to suggest, then you'll find as much as you can handle with an intelligent search on the net.

I honestly do not believe you are a suitable 'candidate' for witchcraft. I believe also you will be wasting your own time by attempting to learn about the subject. Any knowledge, though, is not wasted if you really learn from it. You have not learned from your time at school and there is a great deal of learning to be done before you could consider yourself as a witch. The level of understanding would have to be far greater than you have demonstrated with your knowledge of the English language.

Perhaps (and this has been suggested by another 'answerer') it would be better to learn the lessons you were taught, or are being taught, in school-as your spelling is atrocious.

I am neither arguing for or against the belief in witchcraft, I just don't think you are cut out for it, sorry.

Read Book of Shadows by Phyllis Curott--a classic. Wiccans truly believe in the "Goddess" in every woman and the intense power of seasons and nature. I was curious and found this to be a fascinating book about a skeptic's transformation. I am not a Wiccan but am open-minded about their practices. It is actually pretty cool.

Witchs do exist, and ive read countless stories about how people who attempted to be one were consumed. By satan. You see, satan uses men and women to create magicians and witchs on occasion. (remember satan commited the first sin of pride, and he loves it when people give him attention, the poor sorry sod) HOWEVER he consumes them, and many wind up ill and unable to take care of themselves, eventually they are deserted, and while they thought they are powerfull, many are unable even to care for themselves. If you want true power, you can find it in Jesus, and I know youve heard that alot, but its true. But not in the way of flying on a broomstick, or turning someone into a frog, but the power to change the lives of those around you through prayer, and other things, there is no way you can be more self confident, or more safe than through Jesus. "I say to you, if you have faith but the size of a mustard seed, you may say to this mountian; be moved; and it will move. This referrs to difficult things in your life, and how faith in God can provide you with the strength to overcome ANY of them. Trust me on this, ive experianced it.

Do you really like to be a witch? Do u think it can give valuse to yourself? Think twice of these question.

If, so then go on to your decision of thinking that bad stuff. You are only wasting your time to think. Go out to your house & see the beauty of the nature there's something to discover outside than to ponder that kind of thinking...Ok!

honestly, don't do it. it's not worth it.
i believe there's magic too, but it comes from the devil, and why would you want to hang out with him? he's not that great - after all he is the one who made evil.
talk to someone you trust who will give you good unbiased advice.
