What is your desire? You have to ask yourself if you want to earn a BSCE with structural emphasis or not. A civil engineering degree can have many emphases depending on what electives you take. When I got my degree, I took as many structural engineering courses as I was allowed to take and not hurt the humanities portion required to graduate.

You cannot graduate from a civil engineering school without taking a basic steel and concrete analysis and design course. You should not have to worry about that. You can go online and look at the requirements to earn a CE degree at UCSD and see what concrete and steel design courses are offered, required, and electives.

You can map out your specific field of study that way. Also talk to a counselor to get the straight poop.

Honestly Structural Engineering is a specific discipline, however I am sure the curriculum underlines many civil Engineering courses. I am a current senior Civil Engineering student and many of my past courses are closely related to civil engineering. Hope that helps

Study hard and take the PE(test for professional engineering). And work on your grammar. Good luck.
