I am trying to obtain my US passport and am unsure if I can do that at the moment due to a speeding ticket that I have yet to pay and my inspection sticker ticket as well. Or, is it only convicted felons who would have trouble getting a passport? I'm fresh out of money and can't pay the ticket right now; so, was just wondering if I could hold off 'til after I got back to the states. Please help! Remember: it's only a warrant for a traffic violation not a felony...which is why I'm having a difficult time answering this question!

You can renew your passport because the speeding ticket has nothing to do with the renewal of your passport. The violation is only a minor offense that will not affect your application for a passport.

Have any of you travel out of Country with a warrant? I have. I went to Mexico, had a grand time, showed my new passport that I applied for and got approved while having a warrant from an unpaid DUI ticket. I didn't end up in jail, and I got my stamp, and moved along. You all are answering this question based on internet"facts", I'm speaking from experience.
