Those who are at the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses all make vow of poverty, as have all the members of the Governing Body (Religious Leaders) and all the other members of the Bethel family there.

This does not mean that they live a drab life, without any comforts. But it does mean that they share, without partiality, the modest provisions of food, shelter, and expense reimbursement that are made for all in such service.

Not necessarily, but none in the body should lack.

Acts 4
29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

SHHH! The religious leaders don't want to hear this teaching.

God doesn't call for anyone in the body of Christ to be poor, but if a spiritual leader is 'in it' for the money, they need to check themselves, and see if they are involved in something that could come back and bite them, or to see if their finances are truly being blessed and increase is being provided by God.

Hope I helped!

These days I find it difficult to get a couple nickels ahead when their are so many folks in my area who need a hand. But then, I'm not a religious leader not sure how they are to serve.

Yes. But the Pope, for instance dosen't own any of the things in the vatican. Vatican City owns the palace and wardrobe. The only thing in the popes room are a desk, a bed and a small pillow to kneel on during prayer and that's it.

The worker is worth his wage Scripture says. Why do you want poor religious leaders when you do not want to be poor yourself? Many Catholic priests in other countries maintain a vow of poverty though.

countless them are corrupted by using greed. in the event that they wanted to be quite wealthy, they'd supply up the pointless luxuries so as to work out surely stable completed for the poor. i think somebody who's a non secular chief claiming to be of stable ethical status and yet drives high priced automobiles and lives in huge properties needs to reevaluate his/her priorities.

Poor Benny Hinn and Pat Robertson have such bleak existences right now. Do you expect them to live on less than $100, 000,000.00 dollars a year. You are so insensitive.

I agree - so should all people in a position of authority - that way we could then say, if you are a man of God why hasn't He performed miracles to cloth and feed both, you and your families with. Sounds logical - doesn't it? Stupidity knows no boundaries.
