God does still speak through prophets. The problem stems from the fact that there are many false prophets out there, just as there were in Biblical times. One has to be very careful not to believe everything that one hears. As it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 "Do not put out the Spirit's fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil."

Yes. There were prophets in the early church.
Acts 13
1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
1 Corinthians 12
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

The bible shows the fall of man.
God picking man back up and cleansing the
earth.
From Genisis to revelation thats the summary of all prophecy.
But end time prophets I believe are real as in for the prophets for prophecizing where
we are at on the time scale according to the bible.
When Jesus ascended into heaven he appointed prophets, evengelists,etc...
They are seen as christian leaders today.
Ephesians 4:7-8, 11 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men” ... [11] It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers.

Yes! The problem is that there is so much junk and materialism out there, that some people don't know what real prophecy is! Or they don't recognize it because they are not living what is already written in the Book!
Jesus is living, breathing and awesome!
Hey, if the devil can tell you what to do, why couldn't God?

YES. The message is always the same, but God has promised there will always be at least one messenger on the planet at all times to aid those who are ready to go home.

The bible states that in the end times sons and daughters will prophesy and old men will dream dreams. But I think it won't be noticeable until we get closer to the end of the age ,which is 6- 12.5 yrs from now .
