cardio - 4-6 times a week for 30-50min combined with light weight training is the only way to lose fat.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

squats, but make when your doing the squats, put your legs closer together but not too close and itll attack the thigh region more. Also hiking, biking and other cardio would be helpful. And when you get your desired results dont overdo it because then it wont be toning, you'll just be building muscles to make it bigger.

Run, look for a weight machine that you "squeeze" in and then one that you push out with your knees. Also getting a small work out ball and sitting on the edge of a chair and squeezing that helps too. Umm... pilates is a great way to tone. Hope it helps!
