Im doing my spanish homework, and im trying to find a translation for "to date" as in, to go on a date with someone. and since "date" is idiomatic, all im getting out of the translators is fecha. Any native speakers out there that can help me out in, oh say, the next 15 minutes?

Hi,
"To have a date with someone" will be:
"Tener una cita con alguien"
A little more informal: (and lot more common)
"Salir con alguien" .. <-- this one like english "getting out w/some1".

Or... in the case is not just once "ANDAR con alguien"

Hope this helps!.. :-)

That would be in spanish:
"hacer o tener una cita"
(to establish or plan an appointment of any kind)

to date in this case would be

I have a date with Peter. = Tengo una cita con Peter.

The closest word i can think of is "salida" for example:

"do you wanna go out on a date with me?" would be "Quieres salir conmigo?"

good luck.
