If I feared a higher power, I'd be a believer.

I cannot fear a higher power that more than likely does not exist.

Therefore, I don't.

To be an athiest just means to not have a faith in the beliefs that particular athiest has about a higher power. So they don't fear a higher power, they just don't believe in their own conceptions of what a higher power is. Which may, or may not be, what your concept of a higher power is.

I get it... you're stirring the pot.

Why do you fear the possibility of being in control of your own life? You need a big sky fairy to have control or you will just crawl into a corner and cry out of fear.

We are the fearless ones.

And you have shown complete ignorance by trying to claim that we fear that which we believe does not exist - do you fear unicorns?

What makes you think people fear things that they don't believe exist?

Do you fear giant, fire-breathing, 18 legged, man-eating tarantulas? No. you don't believe any such thing exists, so you can't possibly fear it. Same thing with Atheists and God.

It may be comforting in some way to think that Atheists must fear God, but it's simply not true.

One does not 'fear' what does not exist. Do you fear Godzilla, or Freddie Kruger in real life? No?
Exactly. You don't have a rational fear of the nonexistent.

Save your breath on your next question about the devil. If we profess no belief in your super hero, why would you think we would fear your super villain?

Where ever did you get such a strange idea?

Oh, I get it. This is the old "atheists are just rebelling against God" bit, right? Sorry, doesn't work like that. I can't rebel against something I see no evidence for the existence of in the first place.

I don't think they fear a higher power because they do not believe in one.
