It takes from 6-12 weeks to process a tax return (from the date IRS receives) Anytime after the 6-12 you should expect your TAX REFUND. if there was a problem (error) on your return you will receive a letter or notice.
If not and and it has been longer than 12 weeks then call 1-800-829-1954.

Your refund? It depends on how you filed. If you efiled, then a direct deposit takes 9-16 days, a mailed check takes about three weeks or a little more. If you mailed in your return, add about five weeks to that.
If there are any questions about your return, it can take significantly longer than that - you might not see your refund until the issues are resolved.

In UK, they are usually sent out in the month at the end of the Tax year (i.e. during April) ...
If you haven't received forms for tax year 06/07, and you believe you owe Tax for that year (or have paid too much), contact your Tax Office and ask .. (people who paid too much during 06/07 are already getting refunds sent to them)
