Jesus had female followers who were as close as any of the men, notably Mary Magdalene. She was privileged to be the first to see Him after His resurrection.
The Acts of the Apostles makes it clear that both men and women fasted and prayed together between then and Pentecost in the Upper Room, and that certain women were highly regarded by the Apostles.
Nevertheless, only men were chosen as Apostles. The difference in role between men and women is something modern western society, with its Political Correctness stemming from the 18th century so-called Enlightenment, has forgotten and cannot get to grips with. I believe Jesus would choose men again to be Apostles, and women to be in a supportive role.
As for the 144 000, I don't know what to make of it. It's something I don't fully understand, though I have a slight picture of what it may mean regarding the 12 tribes. Whether they will all be men or not is not of great importance to me.

No, because the Apostles were the first priests of the one Church Christ founded for all mankind, and He made it clear that it was God's will that His priests would be male. God's will is no different now than it was then.
The 144,000 is a modernday tradition of men, and has nothing to do with original Christianity.

Yes. Mary Magdalene was the most loved of the apostles.
144,000 are those saved from the tribes of Israel.
I’m sure just like everything else it would be close to 50% lol.

What a *great* question. ... Not likely if history and R&S views hold... Sexism, whether to stop women from being CLERGY to stop them from being PRESIDENTS, is rife.
“To no form of religion is woman indebted for one impulse of freedom.” -- Susan B Anthony
“Every injustice that has ever been fastened upon women in a Christian country has been "authorized by the Bible" and riveted and perpetuated by the pulpit.” -- Helen H Gardener
“The religious persecution of women has been done under what was claimed to be the command of God.” -- Susan B Anthony
