Benjy was a little boy
Who lived down in the dell.
His family all were ranchers
And Benjy was as well.
They told him sheep were evil,
And cropped the grass to nubs
Their herders broke down fences
And fought with knives and clubs.
He can't forget that awful day
A lamb was brought to school.
That day he found out that he was
Allergic to its wool.
The other children couldn't see
what was the big to-do.
Their families all were herders.
The teacher was one too.
But Benjy couldn't study with
That awful beast around.
It stunk just like the dickens,
And made an awful sound.
And still the others seemed to think
Sheep should be free to roam.
They all thought they'd be better off
If Benjy stayed at home.
But Benjy'd come to school to learn,
Not entertain some pest.
He wrote a letter to the mayor
And stated his request.
The mayor was a herder too
But still he got the word
He took that lamb out of the school
And put it with its herd.
Then the steermen all relaxed
And herders get along,
Except the ones who couldn't stand
The thought of being wrong.
The peace has held up to this point
Though grumbling can be heard.
But will poor Benjy graduate?
We don't yet have the word.

It would be ideal but then you get into the controvery of mixing "church with state".
Parents can take their children to a nearbye church that teaches the bible which is a much better setting since those teachers know their bibles. You don't have to be a member of the church to enroll your child.
If we allow prayer and bible teaching back into schools, how can we keep others i.e. Muslims, etc. from demanding the same and they do go to our schools/colleges,
We have a multitude of churches in our nations and towns and such teaching belongs to those places and are avaialble to anyone. So it really isn't an earthshaking problem.
I am a Christian and would love prayer and bible taught where-ever but we live in far different society than years ago when I went to school (bible was never taught ins chool other than maybe catholic and am not sure it was there, either.)

yeah i totally agree it's obviously the state's responsibility to correct any mistakes parents make. We can't afford these demon children running free anymore!
You are such an idiot. you have illogically reached a conclusion (that i[m sure you didn't already believe) that lack of religion in schools is responsible for increased violence. Which explains things like Virgina Tech, when all those public school kids were laughing and cheering as some madman killed innocent people. Oh wait, they weren't cheering at all. They were deeply saddened, like everyone else. God hates you're stupidity.

NEVER. In fact, I'll fight it tooth and nail. To the point where I'd march on the gvt lawn and get myself arrested to stop it. Religion has no place in schools.
btw.. do you know anything about kids at all? They are nasty, mean, terrible creatures when they're in school. I know from personal experience through school when I was a kid.
There are more religions in North America than there ever have been in history. You bring the bible into schools and you'll find battles going on on the playground between all the different students based on their religion because kids are just that mean. We adults have control over ourselves, kids do not. Kids have to be taught whats right and wrong, they are not born with the knowledge.
Why don't you people think about that before you go spouting off hmm?

Yes, as long as they're willing to show all the variations in Bibles and churches and throw in non-christian books and throw in some writings of atheists and agnostics and let the children decide for themselves what they believe whether than being taught to believe and told that this is the only truth.

NO, of course not. I find this prosyletising. Not all parents want their kids to become Christians, and not all kids want to become Christians. I believe that children should be taught in schools about ALL religions, their pros and cons, INCLUDING the non-mainstream ones like wicca, paganism, satanism. Either this, or nothing about religion at school.

It depends.
I study in a catholic school, so it's normal for us to be taught religion. In other cases, it depends. Teaching it to a multi-religious group of people may cause a hammock or a disturbance. There's that uncomfortable feeling and tension.
It all depends on beliefs.

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 NAB)

Amen And This Is so true, and we the people who have children in schools had better get that lamb back into schools , You owe that to our Children, This is the USA not china or Israel or Mexico, or Muslims, This is the USA and we need to put people of power who want stand behind this Out of power, jeopardize their jobs and their Lively hood and they will Give us back our back Bone and that is the Lamb. And for all the parents who don't put a stop to this don't love and care for their children, They cant, for what they are seeing right before their own eyes and are still BLINDED to what is going own because we removed that Lamb from our schools. When God was removed Satan moved right in And you Parents of our school children. Allowed it and is still week and no back bone about yourselves .Sending your children to school not even knowing if they are going to come Home, I mean come own people....In the words of God the Bible, The Lord tells us their will come aday when people will be blinded to the things that are going own right in front of them and that they are so blinded that they still cant see it.Well we are in those days, Or is it that the today's Parents dont love their children and dont care if they come home or not, God has left the Buildings that house our children, and The parents of the children sit down laid back and let it happen , and still crys wolf when something happens and keeps asking the SAME question WHY! well read this poem this is why Jesus has left,Been removed By havoc causing people who left a country that is nothing but havoc , and came here and was allowed to remove God and place the same kind of havoc that they came from, And we the people of the USA allowed it, The people we elect into power is supposed to protect us not go against us.And stand for us and protect us from such but the ones we have in power ,are not doing what they should be doing, And the USA is blinded to that too.You take God out of The USA and we will be smited Just like the rest of the countries who deny Him, And it is or Children whom we are allowing to suffer because of it..Wake up People and see what is going own and what you parents of our children are allowing to go on, Mothers and fathers stand up and want to fight congress for drunk drivers but not fight congress for OUR LORD, It makes no scence, This is our Lord we are talking about and OUR CHILDREN, Who we have given up own, Shame own we the People, More people fight congress for our animals then for our children ..Go figure..
