no matter how much we debate, or try to "prove" one way or the other, believers will continue to believe and non-believers will continue to not believe. what's the point?

until unquestionable, undeniable evidence comes to support the existance or non-existance of a god, then all we are going to do is argue and make each other angry.

I think that we debate it because the corollary that comes long with belief in God: God intervenes in our daily lives. The existence of any relevant God would include this premise. (Otherwise the question of God is really moot.) But oddly, we never much actually get to the meat of the issue. If you believe in God and depend on God for guidance and miracles, then you will lead your life differently and trust different things than if you do not believe in God and make your decisions based on reason.

1. Allah (SWT) 'God' is only 'One', has no partner or son, and neither gives birth, nor is He born. He is eternally besought by all and has no beginning or end, and none is equal to Him (Holy Quran example)
2. He is the Merciful and the Compassionate, the Guardian and the True Guide, the Just and the Supreme Lord, the Creator and the Watchful, the First and the Last, the Knowing and the Wise, the Hearing, and the Aware, the Witness and the Glorious, the Able and ' the Powerful. (Holy Quran example).
3. He is the Loving and the Provider, the Generous and the Benevolent, the Rich and the Independent, the Forgiving and the Clement, the Patient and the Appreciative, the Unique and the Protector, the Judge and the Peace. (Holy Quran example). The question of Allah's (SWT) 'God' existence has preoccupied men's minds for many centuries. Those who believe in Allah (SWT) 'God' seem to agree that the limited finite human intelligence cannot prove the existence of the infinite boundless of Allah (SWT) 'God'. It can only illustrate or demonstrate his existence to the satisfaction of the curious human mind.
Those who deny Allah's (SWT) 'God' claim to rely on science, philosophy, or special theories of knowledge. Their arguments are sometimes inapplicable, sometimes irrelevant, always complex, and often incomprehensible. However, the developed mind will find its way to Allah (SWT) 'God'. Failure to find the way does not mean that there is no way. Denial of reality does not make it unreal.

The "WHY" is because this is a question that each one of us has to deal with.... AND that different people deal with this question at different times in their lives. Some ask themselves if God exists many times and never come to a conclusion.

Someone once said that each of us have a "God-sized" hole in our soul. Each of us must fill that hole as we see fit, and the existance of God, and who that god is to each person, is dealt with every day, every hour, all the time, world-wide.

THAT is why we debate SO MUCH about the existance of God.

The Atheists do not care whether someone believes in a god, or gods, or not. They care if the religious try to influence everyone elses lives. The Christians are completely incapable of keeping their religion to themselves because their religion tells them not to. If they could do that, they wouldn't hear anything more about the subject unless someone was curious.

Religious believers try to justify their behavior by appealing to the existence of said god. That makes the existence of said god very relevent when it comes to religious believers invoking him in their behavior that affects others.

I completely agree with you. I do not believe there is anyone who could ever convince me that God does not exist. On the other hand I don't believe I could ever convince an atheist nor would I try.

Pointing out flaws in people's inane beliefs about the universe is gratifying to me. Irrationality should be pointed out, where it exists.

Well, because Atheists keep coming to the Religion and Spirituality section for thier daily dose of 'Harass the Christians'.

They seem to be bored of those science books that tell them that they are just going to die.
