hate is normal and natural, unavoidable and actually healthy in some situations, so why do all religions try to pretend it doesn't exist?

I'd like to see an example of where hate is healthy, because I disagree outright.

ANGER can be a healthy emotion, but hatred is the consequence of unmanaged anger by those who, whether by ignorance or brainwashing, don't understand why they feel so strongly.

I also disagree outright with "all religions try to pretend it doesn't exist." What are you talking about?

Most religions acknowledge the existence of hatred.

Why do they eschew it? Because many people have an underlying desire for peace and harmony, and are naturally attracted to religious organizations that make that an underlying principle.

People who cherish hatred often are led to commit crimes and end up in prison. Others are simply mentally ill, and still others who cherish it tend to be angsty young teenagers whose identities will soon solidify and they will thus grow out of their phase.

Religions do not try to pretend that it does not exist, they try to fight it.

Or in better words, they try to fight the hate that is within themselves.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be a better person or wanting to live in a better place and trying to make it that way even though you know it will never be. At least you tried.

And if you can fight the hate that is inside of you with whatever you believe, it will make your life a whole lot easier. It is easier to love than to hate because when you run around with hate in your heart for whatever reason, it hurts you not the other person. You get angry at things that you shouldn't, you let your hate effect your personal relationships and the relationship that you should have with yourself, it takes over your whole life.

I do not see anything wrong with wanting something good and trying to make it good, even though you know it will never be totally good. And I will say it again......At least you tried.

It is not religion that enables ignorance throughout history of religion ~ it is people who breed this hatred. Clashes in ideals and beliefs have occured since the first religions began to surface. It will always exist. Most religions do not discount this argument. In fact, the church seems to keep the fire burning by teaching that their way is the one and only way! This is not what God intended yet, what sinful man has created.

hate is not healthy, anger is ok. Religions (at least what i know) tell that you can use anger appropriately. Hate is not any good, because it only effects you- negatively Religiions do not pretend it does not exist but try to help you stop it. You cannot evolve if you are stuck hating

Since when is hate healthy? It is the most destructive of all emotions, and I can say that as a Christian and as a psychiatrist.

Christianity does NOT deny the existence of hate. It very clearly indicates that hate exists. Christianity offers a remedy for it, however...

they don't pretend, they just don't want it to exist [even though it's almost inevitable]

if any religion actually said or admitted hate existed and made it sound normal then more people would be hating, thinking it's normal to do so.

Hate isn't healthy. Dislike is healthy, and I doubt any religions try to prevent people from disliking anything. Hate, though, is not dislike, it is a nasty perversion of love.
