"convert to atheism" is somewhat misleading. There is no centralized atheistic dogma, except that theism is incorrect.

Atheism isn't a religion. Don't treat it that way. It really bothers me when people assign false values to atheism. It is nothing other than a denial of theism, and says nothing else about what a person believes.

I am not sure that you convert to being an atheist. In some regards, you either never believe in a higher power to begin with or you stop believing in the faith that you once had. Either way, it is easier to not believe than it is to believe. Believe requires faith and the faith doesn't require proof. For some, that is a difficult thing to deal with. It is simple for some to say, "well, no proof means there is no reason to believe." To be a Christian, ideally speaking, you are incredibly devoted, you follow the practices of the faith, you are a member of a religion that has guidelines, requirements, moral codes, and so on. Some, I will admit though I am a Christian, are hard to deal with. Some, I will admit, I would rather NOT deal with at all. It's hard sometimes. Being an atheist isn't a religion. You are following one belief or a philosophy. If I am a Democrat, I am following their philosophies, but it isn't any harder or easier than following another philosophy -- Republican. I would always suggest that the one that is attached to an organized religion is harder than following an ideology or one belief -- in this case, no god.

You don’t convert to atheism. The doubt grows inside of you until you can no longer accept the teachings of your church. I believe that most who turn away never actually felt the love of God. This is often the case when churches fill their children with so much fear of God that they build a protective wall between themselves and what they perceive as God’s wrath. This is what happened to me when I was young.

To become a Christian, I mean to earnestly invite God into your life requires a receptive mind. You must be at a point where you are willing to hear the Word of God.

If you try to force somebody to listen out of fear, you are only perpetuating the cycle I mentioned earlier. The whole thing is futile unless you come to know God’s love.

It is much easier to convert to atheism because no action is really required. With Christianity, one must search ones soul, confess one's guilt, receive a new life, commit one's life to Jesus and grow in faith. The gift is free but the road is narrow. Most are too lazy to try it. Those who find themselves at the end of ther rope and need someone to rescue them from a miserable existence, turn to Jesus and what a life they get! The going can be hard sometimes but definitely worth it.

Most will tell you that it's easier to convert to Atheism.
But that is not true at all! Atheism is harder to convert to.

Christianity provides more comfort and rewards than Atheism.
To become an Atheist, you should stop relying on that father in the sky, you should stop believing in an afterlife, in heaven, in seeing back your lost ones etc etc.

Now you tell me which is easier?

Well, those who put the most and the least into it will be Christians The middle ground is atheism. I say this because you can be a Christian because you have merely accepted what your parents taught you. Some look at this a little more critically and become atheists. Most of the major Christian thinkers, however, were atheists who kept looking critically at their lives and discovered that no explanation fit better than Christianity.

Secret: "Atheism" is what people naturally ARE - "Christianity" is what some people become. The answer is Christianity since God does the converting - not man.

It depends on what's happened to you. If you've been called by God like I have, and have witnessed the spiritual quickening like I have, it is no longer logical to try to be an Atheist. The reason why is because you know already. You don't have that doubt that Atheists have. Oh , they act like they know there isn't a God, but there is truly no way for them to know that, unless they can see the whole universe and percieve everything in it.

So instead what Atheists do is say that the odds of there being a God is so small, that it wouldn't be possible. I can understand that, but I already know that God is there, and that he is the God we find in the Bible. So I know tht the Atheists are wrong, but they don't know that they are wrong.

Why would God let them not know that he is there? Because he doesn't want everybody. He chooses who will come to him, and they want to come to him when he does that.

The truth is; God has always been leading me to him. I can look back on my life and see that. So finally at the age of 24 I trusted God. And I have believed and trusted in him ever since.

Conversion is a religious act of adopting a faith or belief. Atheism is simply ‘no belief’ in supernatural deities. It is not a philosophy, belief system, or life style. Therefore, there is no such thing as ‘converting’ to Atheism.
