In the minds of the gullible. They don't realize that the only reason the religion made it this far is because back then there was no way to verify it's claims. Today, we have the historical records of the time and the archeology to back it up. We know for a fact that Herod died 4 years before Jesus was supposed to have been born, and therefore could not have possibly done the things the bible claims he did. But back then, there was no way to verify things against the truth. The lay people were just not educated enough, and fell for that crap. There's no excuse today, besides being too superstitious to look for the answers from non-christian sources.

Man was created in the Living Image of They, The God Most High Lord Wisdom.

The idea that God created us in image explains why He chose to reveal Himself to us through Christ. After all, humans are in some way similar to God, so it doesn't seem all that strange that His Son would come to earth as a human. Christ is more than the image of God of course, he is God made man. What a beautiful way for us to learn about God, by learning about His son.

thats been debated since for ever. did God create us in his Physical image, or spiritual image? we have a free will, like God. is that it? our bodies have been corrupted by sin, I'm sure we dont look anything like him now. our bodies have degraded so much, at first we were nearly 9 foot tall, strong as and ox, could run like a leopard, and lived over 900 years. but, due to mutated choromosomes and the loss of the majority of the water vapor that turned the earth into a giants hyperbarrick *spelling* chamber that caused us to be so large and live so long, we are what we have become. read the book of Genisis, you'll be amazed.

God created us as spirits and with free will, as He is. Our Free Will gives us the capacity to truly love, as God does. We, however, have a physical nature that he doesn't have. Spirits are not spatial, so he can be said to be everywhere, but that's only in a human way of thinking.
"Being in the image of God the human individual possesses the dignity of a person, who is not just something, but someone. He is capable of self-knowledge, of self-possession and of freely giving himself and entering into communion with other persons. And he is called by grace to a covenant with his Creator, to offer him a response of faith and love that no other creature can give in his stead." is what the Roman Catholic Church teaches.

Hello. No one has seen God's face, just His glory. But being made in His image also means that we have intelligence, consciousness, a free will, ability to love and hate, appreciation for beauty and depravity, etc. We are a little chip off a big block. Praise God for His mercy and love for us.

NIV 1 John 4:16-17
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him.
Because in this world we are like him. And this is your answer

"image" means so many things in english, and translating it into the few other languages I know is so tricky and context-ruled. Google it, or Y-Search it. Find out what were the earliest Aramaic or whatever words which come down to us as "image" now.

He created us in His image means that we know right from wrong. He also wrote His Moral Law into our hearts to protect us. : )
He is everywhere within His character. He is where ever He pleases. : )

Caleb,
HE, Christ, and the angels are in Heaven. Although, GOD is also Omnipresent. That means that HE is capable of seeing everything at the same time and always. We are created in HIS IMAGE meaning that we also have a soul. Our soul will be Judged by CHRIST at GOD's time and day that HE has already decided. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds
