There are no actual symptoms (fever, iching, etc) for skin cancer like there are for illnesses, diseases or conditions. Instead, skin cancer has characteristics. Skin cancers are diagnosed via appearance and different skin cancers have different appearances. Diagnosis is also then substantiated by removal followed with pathology. The best way to get an idea about skin cancer is to see photos. I have posted sites here for specific types of skin cancers...please note, they show very good pictures and also give a great description of the characteristics of that particular skin cancer..

Melanoma

If you have specific questions, please feel free to contact me. I have had quite a few basal cells, a multi-focal basal cell and a malignant melanoma And, I have never been a sunbather! Mine were the result of two serious sunburns I had...one at the age of 7 and one at 21.
