Eric, Are you saying that we should strap doughnuts to young hot women and this will help? Or is that why they like doughnuts, cuz they get to do that?

It is an easy sugar fix that provide a quick burst of energy. A doughnut is practical because you can eat it on the run and they taste good. Cops aren't the only ones to love doughnuts, most people do but most of us are not limited by having to be constantly at the ready while on the job the way cops are.

Donut Shops open 24 hours..........police work = 24 hours.
Personal story.........I was working a detail after a tornado hit in a Midwestern town and clean-up took several days. Officers from surrounding municipalities volunteered to assist (as well as working their regular shifts). A local Church group brought out sandwiches and donuts to the officers. As they were leaving the area one of the ladies mentioned that all the sandwiches were gone but they still had eight dozen donuts left. She said her husband told them to bring donuts because "Cops really like them".
Hope this helps.

Doughnut shops are some of the few places open at 3 in the morning that you can leave at the drop of a hat, as police officers must when they receive a call.

Who DOESN'T like doughnuts???
Anyway, all the cops I know are in much better shape than I'm in, and I don't eat doughnuts that often... mmmm! But when I do get to eat doughnuts, I get them fresh... glazed are my favorites... mmmmm dunked in milk or in coffee... mmmm!
Ok, think of something healthy... avocados... tomatoes...

troutpot, although you claim you are just having fun, you are still being disrespectful and taking cheap shots at a group of people who put their lives on the line every minute of every day to protect you, your loved ones, friends, etc.
I bet you don't risk your life when you go to work; when police officers walk out their front door, they have less of a guarantee that they are coming home than you and I.
Please give the respect these people deserve. You wouldn't want them taking cheap shots at you, I'm sure.

Because doughnut shops open early and when some cops are up all night, they need something quick to eat.

Since your profile says that you like to have fun and be goofy, I'll assume you are asking this question simply to generate interesting responses. Otherwise, your question suggests that "all" police officers like donuts. That's like saying that all lawyers like cheese, or that all teachers like apples, or that all mechanics like tomato soup. Therefore obviously, not "all" police officers like donuts. Secondly, you make the statement that they are "all" flabby. Take a look around at the men and women in uniform and you'll disprove your own statement. Are you having fun with this question, or do you have an issue with police officers???

D.A.R.E. To Keep Cops Off Doughnuts... ( I agree with scruffycat. The cops around here are unbelievable !!!) If I'm not mistaken, Dunkin' Donuts used to provide booths for cops to be able to hook up to the internet, etc......
