I'm not scared of anything anymore, now that Jesus Christ has made me a child of God.

There's a lot of truth in the observation that many remain Christian just because it's a 'safe bet'. However, this behavior is NOT limited to just Christians, as this is the case with just about ALL 'traditions' or ideologies whether they be religious or political.
As far as what you might mean by "good morals"; i.e., are there "bad" ones, and/or "not so good" ones--and what 'society' are you referring to?
...I would have to say that if we actually were able to compare our present day "morals" (again, this depends upon your definition), then I would have to disagree with your assertion; as I believe that in MANY ways our 'morals' are MUCH higher than they have been when compared to the past, let's say 2,000 years...
However, I realize that there are many who would want you to believe otherwise in order to forward their own personal agenda on what is, and what is not 'moral'.
So, is this from your personal study and observation, or are you just repeating what you have been told by someone else?
As far as being 'scared' of hell, I guess that I would have to say that probably my greatest fear I have is that "in the great wak'in up mornin'" I find out that there IS a hell, and I'm going there, and also find out that that is where all the 'religionists' have been sent!?!?!?
Regards,

Riot: I am a Christian and was once a staunch atheist. I do not subscribe to a belief in the "hell" dogma, either. As far as, society loosing its "good morals", society never really had them - but a inherent dose of self-righteousness. If the morals were of God, they would of passed the test of time and we would have them stronger today. If anyone purporting to be Christian is doing so out of a fear of going to hell fire for eternity - he or she is just kidding them self.

No matter what religion (or lack of) you are, you will be judged. Christianity simply makes you aware of that. And being a ""plastic"" Christian won't be any different than being an atheist. Being lukewarm won't help anyone, especially not yourself. I would suggest by starting to get rid of your nasty habits and work your way up from there. And at Tia K, you cannot knowingly sin and repent in an endless cycle. You have to mean it and then carry it out. And dog food? A tad random, but I believe it consists of rice and overly processed chicken livers. Glad you take good care of your pup.

I don't worry about becoming an atheist because in order to be one, I would have to not believe in God. It isn't fear of hell that makes me believe - it is my own judgement and common sense that tells me that not only is God real, but so is His Son, and so is the fact that Christ died for my sins and paid the penalty that was mine to pay so that I could go to Heaven one day. Whether or not I believe would have had no bearing on my morals because I was raised by good parents whose morals and characters were good and that was more a part of them being good human beings than them being Christians.

No more scared than someone becoming a dog because there is a pound. Will you stay that way because you say it's true? The sick thing is that all of the SUPREME thoughts and questions are backed by nothing.

I love being a Christian. God holds and controls all my burdens. He's with me all the time. He found me a wonderful, loving Christian wife. I have peace in my heart, and I'll live with God someday in a room of my own in His mansion. I even believe, without scriptural proof however, that all my pets will be there.
Trust me. I was a cop for 30 years. There are no atheists at death's door. They cry and whine like babies when they die. Pretty pitiful. Lots of car wrecks. Atheists can't drive too well either.

When you are a true christian, there is NO fear of hell because we know we will never go there and God has not given us the spirit of fear. We don't stay christian out of fear therefore, we stay christian out of love, honor and respect for The Almighty God and His Son Jesus, Our Christ who we eagerly await for. Our faith in Jesus is secure and we do not live wondering or "in case"......God bless

NO, Do you remember when you were in the womb? do you doubt that you were in the womb?Do you know who your father is? can you explain how something so small, that you cannot see it with your eyes, could grow and become a living breathing being?I have a heart that pumps blood, but it doesen`t give me feelings, I have eyes that see, but does not give me feelings, I have ears that that hear, but does not give me feelings, these feelings come from the spirit within me , and that spirit came from God. And when I die, Those feelings will still be living, because feelings do not come from the flesh, they come from the creator of the spirit. GOD...your body holds that spirit, till it is set free in death.

If you don't believe, but accept the possibility of God, you are an agnostic. Since there is no absolute PROOF either way, that is more intelligent than being an atheist.
