ok well i lost 30 pounds in 3 months by going on a strict diet of only chicken breasts, vegtables, fat free yougurts, 70 calorie string cheese, 60 calorie per slice turkey deli meat, really low calorie bread- its sara lee and you get 2 peices of bread for only 80 calories so its really good if you make a grilled cheese sandwhich with the string cheese. then for dinner i would buy a couple of those healthy choice microwavable dinners, drink fat free milk with 1 cup of life ceral. i would also eat little snacks like nuts- but not to much beacsu ethey have a lot of fat in them, or put some peanut butter on some saltine crackers. also eat some cottage cheese. bascically i would eat every two hourse becaus eit speeds up your metabolism and i would have 3 meals a day and 3 snacks. it was really hard cause i had to eat the same food every day and i was usually still hungry but on top of that i was burning about 500-600 calories a day 5 days a week - i would do the elliptical trainer for 20 min. then fast walk on the treadmill for 20 min. then this other machine that is exactly like the elliptical machine too but your arms move with it and i did that fo 20 min. it was sooooo hard to keep up on this but i did it and i did loose wait fast but i ended up gaining it all back and now im a lardo again. im actually tryingf to loose wait too. im 19 and weigh 180 too. i was thinking about trying the nutrisystem program, i think its like $278 for a months worth of food and what they do is they have specail pre-portioned meals already and they send them to you in the mail every week so you just have to warm them up in the microwave. you should look it up on the internert. i hear that a lot of people are loosing weight from it so if you do that and exersice like 3 times a week you should be totally good to go on your goal by loosing the weight by december. make sure you do heavy cardio workout 3 times a week and some weight training 2 times a week and you will look great!! well good luck and dont give up!!!! hopfully we wont be fat lards in a couple of months.... oh ya!!!
ps- i wasnt saying that you were fat i was just trying to make you laugh and encourage you by that comment i wrote-dont want to offend you.
god bless!!!

No, of course not. Most people you see working out bench WAY more than their body weight. although 5'9 120 and putting up 180 seems like a bit of a stretch, maybe you max out at 180 but I highly doubt you rep that. I never put up 180 until maybe my junior year. Also bench if really not important for a lot of the sports you mentioned so make sure your doing full body workouts.

you know all fast food restaraunts? never eat there again. then run, every day. work up to a mile, tehn more. situps, crunches, and no cookies, deserts, or anything like that. you'll shed pounds fast. also, dont eat anything late at night. it gives you no time to burn it off. in order to shed a pound a week (thats healthy, 1 to 2 pounds is good weight loss) you have to be 500 calories short a day. just to have water instead of having 1bottle of coke a day can shed 200 or more calories.
dont skip meals. if you do, your body shuts down to conserve energy. you lose faster if you eat, and apple lets say than nothing.
it will be tough, but if you work hard and stay focused, you will lose weight. my way is probabyl the most difficult, but will be very satisfying if you can pull it off.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

The best advice I can give you is to keep a food journal. You can immediately see where you're making mistakes and see your progress when you correct certain behaviors. Also, cardio, cardio, cardio. Don't forget to drink tons of water. (Water helps your body break down fat and use calories more effectively). Good luck!
