My daughter (5 yrs) may get chance to get a break in modeling. I am in a delimma that should I further concentrate on modeling career or go normal schooling way to take conventional career path. Glamor and showmanship life is not bad, but I have a feeling that their personal life is quite disturbed and there is no sure shot chance that even if I concentrate on modeling, it will lead to success. Please suggest.

I am a 14 yr old model and have always attended public school. Most of my shoots are on the weekends. I also act so when I have an audition, sometimes I just get out of school early. Our school has been really good about letting me make up work etc. I compete in beauty pageants and also travel out of state for that. I am busy but so glad that I go to normal school and get to hang out with my friends and do school sports.

Well your daughter has a better chance of having a screwed up life if you push modeling/performing at this age. There are exceptions to that but the majority of people who enter that business as a child seem to wind up screwed up/burned out/etc.

Why not send some pics to some children's modeling agencies to see if there is any interest in her "look". She can be the most adorable, beautiful child but if her "look" is not in demand, she won't get work.

I do know children who had made occasional commercials and went to normal school, etc. They all lived in the NYC area.

Normal education is better. As a teenager, if she wants to model, she can move to New York City, where the American fashion industry is located.

The truth is if you want to be a Firefighter then you will be needing your EMT cert at a minimum, and more likely your Paramedic Lic.. go to school, get your EMT. you will get a job and then meet alot of higher quality people who will be your brothers and sisters in EMS and in time the Fire service.. things may suck now but it won't always be that way unless you allow it.

does she have the personality and talent for it? will she be able to complete school on the road? will it prove lucrative for her (and you) to do this? if yes to all, then go for it! beware of bad guys, but it can be fun, exciting, and very rewarding! gl
