The SHORT answer is SEAL training (known as BUD/S) is much tougher.
I think Discovery channel have an episode or two on that training. And there are plenty of books on this where ex-SEALs describe their ordeal through the course.
There are a LOT of physical exercise. Trainers will be hounding you every step of the way while you are miserably wet with sand in your clothes and all over your body. Expect to spend MOST of the six months wet and miserable. In fact, be ready to spent a lot of time in the water, especially COLD water. Even San Diego water rarely goes above 60 degrees... so spending HOURS in that water... Hmmm...
There's also a very "troubling" thing to learn... called drown-proofing. You'll be tied up, hands behind your back and foot together, and tossed into the water (with other swimmers ready to save you in case you can't do it) and try to swim (like a snake, sort of). This is an experience learned in Vietnam... and it's a hard lesson that all SEAL must be "drown-proof".
By the end of "Hell Week" (call it graduation test if you will) you'd be working w/o sleep for several days, and by then only pure willpower will see you through the training. You are allowed to quit at any time, and many people choose to do so. They need to head to the beach and ring the bell, and they will be shipped back to their unit and sleep in a warm bed, but real SEALs will make it through, because they know in their heart that they are tougher than physical torment.
Marines don't have anything similar to this. Marines basically have indoctrination, in which you are basically taught how to think like a marine, and how to BE a marine, which includes both physical and mental challenges, but they don't have a "test you to your limits and beyond" test like BUD/S hell week.

Which is more prestigious? USMC is too broad. A Marine COULD be more prestigious than a Navy SEAL, but a cook in the Marine Corps would certainly not. Which demands more respect? Respect them both equally as they are both full of the most dedicated volunteers that American citizens should be proud of. Which is more humble? Probably the Navy SEALs, since NONE of them do it for recognition. I've read about them loving Naval Special Warfare so much because not many people know what it is.

I dont know why this question is asked so much. Navy Seal training is the toughest in the world. Marines have the toughest bootcamp but fat kids and girls make it through marine bootcamp. you will never see an overweight Navy Seal or any girls in the Seal teams. The rumor about how 60% of Seals are marines is complete BS. I am training with two ex navy seals and they can say for a fact that not even .02% of Seals are marines or ex marines!

Well they are two different entities. The Marine Corps is a branch of service that can be difficult. Navy Seals are specialized forces with in the Navy...much like Army Rangers or Recon Marines. SEALs are elite though and much more hardcore and physically fit then your average Marine. The physical demands and requirements to become a Seal are much harder and demanding then it is to be a basic Marine.

Navy SEALs are special forces. The Marines are a branch of the military. Its realatively easy to get into the Marines...but as with the Navy Seals its hard to get into Marine Recon. You're kind of comparing apples to oranges.

SEAL training is definitely harder than marine corps training. In order to become a SEAL you must first make it through either navy or marine corps boot camp.
Oh, yes; there are Marines who become SEALs, it is just something that isn't advertised very often. Remember, the Marine Corps belongs to the Navy...

You are comparing apples and oranges. The Marine units that Jump and dive are small, and are called Force Recon., and not all of them have the intensive training required of a Seal. I would pick Seals for small waterborne ops, and Recon for the rest, mainly because they come ready to fight in Batallion strength if necessary. Swift, silent and deadly. Semper Fi.

This accurate type of information is unavailable on Yahoo Answers.
You must visit with, or telephone your hometown military Recruiters for the very latest information. (A visit is best when getting your information.)
Right now, start making a list of all the questions you can think of. When the time comes, take your list of questions with you to the hometown military Recruiter and "pick their brain" to ensure all your questions are answered.
Also ask what types of high school courses you would also need to graduate high school, which would be to your advantage for your potential future job, when enlisting in the military.
