How is a person to be a Christian in this circumstance
(1 John 2:15-17) 15 Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; 16 because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. 17 Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.
(James 4:4) 4 Adulteresses, do YOU not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God.
(1 Corinthians 5:9-10) 9 In my letter I wrote YOU to quit mixing in company with fornicators, 10 not [meaning] entirely with the fornicators of this world or the greedy persons and extortioners or idolaters. Otherwise, YOU would actually have to get out of the world.

It is the attitude that true christians have towards the world and towards the people who are a part of the world that matters. John 15:19 "You (Jesus followers) are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world." So true christian are no part of the mass of human society that is basicly alienated from God. They are to care for normal activities, but in general shun attitudes, speech, and conduct that are characteristic of the world and that conflict with Jehovahs righteous ways.!

Jesus made it very clear be in the world and not of it. why do we make everything so complicated in this world what's God let it be God's and what's man let be man's. For if we love the the things of the world or place them before God then we fall short of God and his glory making these things that are only temporal idols, you see God gave all these things to us and I'm not talking about things that we know are morally wrong such as fornication and lust and lies, stealing, killing, coveting and etc.. but the things that we embrace life with to richly enjoy and thank God for!

Anything you put before God makes enmity (makes you enemies with) God.
So what these verses is saying is that if worldly things (possisions, fame, position, relationships, money) make it so you don't trust in and obey God, then you have made God your enemy.
Put Him first, put His will before your own, He loves you.

the world is a passing thing. If you follow the world, you share in its demise. The Lord is eternal. If you follow the Lord, you share in His glory.
