God teaches me respect others. He created you, just as He created me. Why is it, when I try to ask a question, I am accused of prejudice? The only way for us to understand each other is for each of us to listen, and understand the reason for each others feelings, ideas, and opinions.

Rather, it seems the age of being able to carry on a conversation with others about a topic with differing opinions has become the days of accusation. Where the un-popular belief must be silenced. Please remember and respect the fact that at the founding of this country, and up to today, persons of my belief have found so that you can have those differing opinions. Please, do not be offended in my belief of the Almighty. It was because of such belief that I want to know and understand more.

I get your question...and it doesn't seem fair does it? This forum is for people to ask questions, which is fine, but when you do, you end up getting "bashed" for it. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 talks about the conditions of the Last Days and one of the things it mentions is that people are "not open to any agreement." Look around Y! R&S section, it's everywhere. Nobody wants to agree on anything. It's a constant struggle to be heard without someone getting upset and consequently "bashing" you for it.

Just look at the example of Jesus. His enemies falsely accused him of being a Sabbath breaker, a drunkard, and a demonized person, but Jesus was not dishonored by their lies. Jesus went on to say, “If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also.” (John 15:20) Contrary to common belief, when people attack you and your faith, even if it's only with words, it's still a form of persecution because they're trying to break your faith, and thus, it forces you to defend it. When you get a minute, read Psalms 37:10,11,29. It's a very encouraging scripture. Hope I've helped.

The reason, I believe, that we Christians are called prejudice (pre-judging) is because we believe what the Bible says is sin, the world does not. We should be able to discuss all topics without prejudice, with all peoples. God created man-all the different races, etc. Starting with Adam and Eve. So, why do we think man started out white, or black? Or any other color? We started out, as far as I am concerned, with all of the human race in two people to start with. God is awesome! Hope this helps answer your question. Take care.

kent: That's just the problem with humans - fickleness ! We are conditioned by society to seek and obtain acceptance. People like to attain to the approbation of others; therefore, they "fit in". We definitely have lost the tolerance to bear the opinions of others. It requires real resolve to be your own person today. I am a Christian, and do not get offended at logical, sincere straight forward questions or opinions about God. It is when some get snotty and want you to believe only what he or she has come to believe. I have presented solid fact observations to people on here and have been ridiculed by the prejudices of those few. There are no dumb students - only dumb teachers ! All the very best to you, kent !!!

Kentrahen,
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with asking questions here. I attempt to answer any question that I know anything about. You are welcome to email me if I may be of service, I will gladly do so. There are a number of people on this site that are quite knowledgable and assist others from each and every religious and/or non-religious group. I feel like a part of this group and have for some tikme now. I coorespond with a number of people offline and would be glad to pass your question on if I am unable to answer it. I feel that each and every person on this site has real value to others and I am very proud to be able to get online and be a part of this group on YA. Have a wonderful evening and a fantastic week!!
Thanks,

Part of the problem is this is not a discussion area, not a BB and not a chat area. There are plenty of those if you want discussion.

This area is as a Q & A forum. You have a question, others are suppose to provide an answer. The idea is that we can help each other... somewhere that concept got hijacked.

Many people are afraid (or too lazy) to have an open mind. Many people want to be in a comfort zone. Having to listen to questions that challenge their beliefs and values they hold dearly is not an easy thing to do.

I can understand what you are saying. I can also understand those who get offended being questioned.

I 100% agree with you. It seems, the more I read questions and answers on here, that people who claim to be atheists or not believe in God cannot take questions seriously and give honest answers, but they have to throw in criticisms and insults against Christians being able to think for themselves, etc. I think for myself 100% and my though process has led me to believe in God and I see His evidence everywhere and in all things. ANd, while not all people who claim to be Christinas, most Christians respond in logical and non-critical ways (again not all, I understand). This leads me to believe that the ones doing the logical thinking are Christians. Atheists have to take a lot on faith, too. Just different things. Everyone has faith, it just depends what you're putting it in. Thank you for posting this.

It is important to ask questions.
Before you ask questions it is very important that you understand the question you are going to ask.
No one dies from different opinions.I do not disregard others opinions I save them because I may use it some day under different circumstances

I am a non-theist. It simply means that I don't believe. It does not mean that I say there is no God, I just don't believe.
I have no problem with you.
You didn't condemn me, or my beliefs. (with this question)
You are the kind of Christian I could hang out with.

Ask what you want to. No matter what it is, the answers will be split in thirds. One third, of the answers, will be from total idiots and not even relate, the second third will flounder around trying to find some answer and the third one third will possibly give you some sensible answers. Hang in there. Pops
