The idea behind atheism is a belief that God doesn't exist. To denounce means that you accuse or condemn. Why are so many following a movement to accuse and condemn blindly what they say they don't believe exists?

I believe it is the work of someone who is trying to trick unsuspecting persons into the unforgiveable sin, by making it the cool thing to do, thus condemning themselves.

In my country, Most are Buddhists. They don't believe in God but they don't denounce God. We also welcome other religions also. We believe in living together peacefully no matter what religion or race we are. Though Buddhists don't believe in God, they believe that there is force in the Universe which holds things together and they also believe that there are other ways to attain enlightenment, salvation or self-realization also.

It's hard to denounce the writers of the Bible since who knows how much editing, and interpretation has taken place in the last 2000-4000 years, also, I'm assuming their original intentions were good. This leaves God/Jesus as the only consistent in the mess that is Christianity.

No one is out to trick believers, atheists present evidence, or in this case lack there of, and hope you can use an open mind to make a decision. Hell doesn't exist, it's going to be okay to search a variety of answers.

Actually, atheism just do not believe in anything. It's not about "your" God. They simply do not believe in anything, any form for Religion.

The idea about a God who gets cranky enough to send those he has created into Hell worries me. It seems very...one-sided, from those who believe such things. I think that if there is a God, he or she or it should be openminded enough to realise that a person can be good, and not believe.

Personally, I am an agnostic, who would rather believe in Wicca than in the Christian faith for the same reason mentioned above.

How come children die in traffic, and not Christians who try and convert others, saying everyone who does not believe in God will go the Hell, and generally spread a bad feeling and a sense of helplessness into people who cannot change how they fell, or what they are?

We're not denouncing "God". We're denouncing organized religion, especially the bigotry, hate and ignorance caused by blind faith in organized religions that promote bigotry & hate.

Of course, given that we're a minority, some of us use what may seem like some pretty extreme tactics. But I am absolutely convinced that people like you see these tactics through the rose colored glasses of your belief that even the mere questioning the existence of your God is "blasphemous".

I expect you don't even blink when someone tells you that Zeus or Odin or Ra don't exist. You might not even blink when someone tells you that Allah doesn't exist. Why is it that you think that Jehovah should be unquestionable?

Many of us denounce the IDEA of god because we believe it is a harmful and dangerous delusion. We believe (many of us) that belief in a supreme being or deity is harmful to the world at large and want to present to people the idea that they can live without it. If it helps, just think of it as witnessing.

There's a difference between denouncing religion and denouncing your God. Religions exist.

Which atheists are denouncing God?

I'm sorry, but you don't seem to understand religion well enough to participate sensibly here, and you don't seem to be able to express coherent thoughts either.

I'm not denouncing god. God doesn't exist and therefore doesn't need to be denounced. I'm denouncing superstition, of which god belief is a part.
