You know, that's the whole point of the FSM - believing in something silly because it's undisprovable is ridiculous.

Yo Christians,

Can you give me proof God does exist?

2007-05-13 22:26:53 · answer #2 · answered by Judge Rudy 5 · 6 0

Can you give me PROOF that Zeus doesn't exist? That mermaids don't exist? That unicorns don't exist? (I could go on and on and list every single thing the imagination can come up with...)

It is the responsibility of the people making the claim that something exists to prove that it does, not the people who don't believe them. You are the one trying to convince people that there's an invisible super-being up in the sky. It's not up to me to prove that the invisible super-being DOESN'T exist. I just shrug off your claim and go on with my life. If you want us to believe you, then YOU prove your claim.

The burden of proof lies with those that claim something's existance. It is YOUR responsibility to show proof of your god's existance.

Yo, Theists?
Burden of proof, lol.

Edit:

If you really don't understand the burden of proof, I can give you an actual answer.

@Expertless:
The burden of proof is a part of logical thought. It's not some kind of script, it's the obvious response to this kind of inane question.

Oh yes,the old "burden of proof" bit. Typical of unbelievers. How about the burden of proof on those unbelievers to prove to us God doesn't exist, huh? From your own words I have seen many of you say you are here to "enlighten" those who believe in God. So,enlighten me. Show me the proof that God doesn't exist.

Nope. Couldn't the 540 other times this inane question was asked either.

Google "burden of proof".
Read carefully.
Learn not to make this mistake again.

I can't imagine why atheists would deviate from this "script", since our response to this question is the correct one. The idea here is to give correct answers.

Obviously, they cannot.
OH, and, since the atheist states positively that God does not exist, then the "burden of proof" works both ways.
Don't let 'em fool you with that line. It seems to be the best they've got...
Really, you'd think they'd be capable of coming up with some more creative come-backs, since they are supposed to be so "intellectual".

If you claim that God does exist can you give me PROOF that it isn't Krishna?

Proof is only found in mathematics. In the real world probabilities are estimated based on evidence and you don't have it.
