The true concept oef the Monotheistic God is so clear and heartfilling that it promotes the one on one relationship between creator and creation without the intercession of any other being.

The New Encyclopedia Britannica states:

“Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament . . .

“The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . .

“It was not until the 4th century that the distinctness of the three and their unity were brought together in a single orthodox doctrine of one essence and three persons.”

The New Catholic Encyclopedia makes a similar statement regarding the origin of the Trinity:

“The formula itself does not reflect the immediate consciousness of the period of origins; it was the product of 3 centuries of doctrinal development.”

It makes no sense.

Three does not equal one. I don't see how that's so hard. Three different beings existing at the same time = three different gods.

absolutely,

no doubt about it.

bunch of garbage and a very powerful deception.

The trinity is but one set of beliefs though most of the christians today are really on the verge of "modalism" which teaches that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are really three offices held by the one God.

There are many Christians that do not believe either the trinity or modalism.

When a person says:
The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. But not three gods only one God.

They are really teaching something akin to modalism. This is considered heretical by true trinitarians. Often they will use also the word or label "Godhead".

"Godhead" is in many bible translations. But the Greek word should be taken to be "God's Divinity and the multiple forms He shows this to us". Paul used local concepts or concepts locals understood to explain God.

True trinitarians do not believe in a "Godhead", as taught in modalism, they believe that each is God but each is a distinct entity.

This is where many religious teachers can confuse the newcomer to religion. It is easy for them to show the errors in modalism, but difficult to show that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not also one with God in purpose and essence yet distinct self's which is close to "trinity".

Yes. That has always been the aim of false christians. Keep the Bible in Latin, a dead language, so no one will know how much we lie. Bring in trinity concept from paganism so we can really screw with their minds. Now that there are many translations of the Bible, we must forbid them from actually reading it. Keep them tied up with litergies and idols to not allow for reason. The true Creator is a most reasonable God. Look at the order of His creations. All of His commands and writings are just as reasonable. So are His plans for the earth. False religion and its father, Satan, do not want anyone to understand this. It is to their advantage to keep everything confused as possible.

Is there some reason you have to make up a word "tri-thesitic" - which would on the surface mean three gods, and thus contradicts Trinity? Of course it is a complex doctrine, there is no good analogy in humanity to draw on. But that hasn't kept people through the centuries from believing and having an understanding. Remember, God, who is infinite, can never be fully comprehended by a finite mind.

The doctrine of the Trinity was developed to explain the numerous references to the plurality of God in the Bible, both Old and New Testaments.

As such it is not "Biblical" because the Bible does not use the term but it is Orthodox and is supported by the Bible.

Just because it was not articulated until the 3rd Century does not mean that it did not exist.

No, the word trinity does not appear, but it is taken from the scripture...Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Mark 4: 21 He said to them, "Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don't you put it on its stand?
22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.
23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear."
If you hear the Word, it is not that hard to understand.

Shalom.

There is no way for it not to be confusing. It's a false doctrine... It's amazing it's stayed mainstream Christian for so long.

Heavenly Father is God. Jesus Christ is his literal Son(Only Begotten Son) and the Holy Ghost is another member of of the Godhead... as you said the trinity is extra-Biblical.

The three are separate beings who are one(one=unity, purpose, not one personage)

Hi mithraphage. It is true the word Trinity does not appear in the Bible, but that does not mean the Truth of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Sprit as one is not in the Bible. So I am not sure where the New Encyclopedia Britannica is getting their information. The word 'Rapture' does not appear in the Bible either, but only unbelievers would say there will be no Judgment Day.

The word 'Trinity' means 'three' it is a word (like the word Rapture) Bible theologians use to discribe God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Sprit as one, and there are many verses in the Bible where God tells us that Jesus was all three. Jesus was God almighty Himself. In Isaiah 9:6 God foretells the birth of Jesus:

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Who is the Child to be born? Who is the Mighty God? The Everlasting Father? Who is the Prince of Peace? The Wonderful Counsellor? The Child to be born is Jesus Christ. (Matthew 1:23)

Again in 1 John 5:7 God tells us that the Three are One:

“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.”

In John 1:14 God tells us the Word is Jesus:

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

God insists there is one God, and yet, He clearly reveals Himself as three distinct persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God says of the Lord Jesus in Colossians 2:9:

“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;”

Jesus says of Himself in John 10:30:

“I and my Father are One”

In John 14:9 Jesus tells us He is God:

“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

There are many things in the Bible that are hard for us to understand. One example is when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, but he did. Lazarus had laid in his tomb for four days and his corpse stunk so bad His followers said to Him in John 11:39_44

“…“Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” but Jesus commanded Lazarus to “come forth” “…He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

How could Christ raise a man who had been dead for four days? How can The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit be One? With our finite minds we do not understand everything, but God with His infinite mind, nothing is impossible.

The Holy Trintiy was believed in since the time of the apostles. Here's a some examples:
Justin Martyr (100-165). He was a Christian apologist and martyr.
"For, in the name of God, the Father and Lord of the universe, and of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, they then receive the washing with water."

Ignatius of Antioch (died 98/117). Bishop of Antioch. He wrote much in defense of Christianity.
"In Christ Jesus our Lord, by whom and with whom be glory and power to the Father with the Holy Spirit for ever"

Proof from the New Testament:
"So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19

Old Testament:
Then God (singular) said, "Let US make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness..." Genesis 1:26

The monotheistic Trinity is not confusing. It is simply beyond the capability of the human mind to comprehend completely. If we simply take God at His word and don't try to fully understand something that is beyond our grasp, we won't end up confused.
