:-) I say isn't this just the question?

Lets see, It is a little like practicing the method that method practices. Understand what practices and how a method is created and design your future you can.

The trouble is simply believing you simply can, but when you hold the most pure virtues in hand simply believing comes into effect. That effect allows the creation to be explained and wisdom gained.

We must ask what has returned the most positive effect? Let that knowledge guide you.

Answer this question and understand a different thought.

What is it that continues to have a life greater than yours that you experience in many ways but apparently to most, has no life at all?

I would keep my life just as it is.

The "school of hard knocks" is a great place to be, to learn and grow. I would not want to control everything that happens in my life, because I lack the wisdom to know what I don't know. How could I design my own life in such a way that it would teach me all that I need to know?

I trust God to let my life unfold as it will. All suffering has a purpose. All joy also has a purpose.

"... all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good." (Doctrine & Covenants 122: 7)

All is well.

You are doing just that. You took Refuge, probably Precepts and other vows like the Bodhisattva vow and live according to those vows. You are being as good a person as you can be, to do better next time. The bad experiences are teachers. Our teachers on the other hand are not bad experiences. You may be trying for the perfections. We have to ingrain our self with positivity to reach those goals but it can be done little sister. Lots of Metta, and good wishes.

I believe I AM designing my life right now, and though I'm already where I want my life to be, at the same time I know I haven't arrived there yet. An example would be this: "I am free from want and I live amidst abundance." I experience this reality now to some extent, but I know by using the power of thought, focus, and action to perceive and multiply this reality, I will experience it to greater extents.

My life is design-built process. The plans (and CAD files) are incomplete and I use empiric methods in the construction of it.
