I've had my belly button pierced for almost a week and tonight it just started to itch, is that because it's healing, or is there something wrong with it? It looks normal and isn't swollen or anything. Thanks for any help and suggestions are welcomed too.

i got my done almost 3 weeks ago and a week later it was itching and had some dry skin around where the bars come out and it still has some puss when i move it up and done which the piercing guide i got says is all normal =] and itching of anything a sore cut or piercing is a sign of healing

It could be yes, it could also be the start of an infection, get yourself a bottle of Surgical spirit from a chemist, keep cleaning the area a few times a day and if there is any infection that will clear it up very quickly.

It could be healing- then again it could be an infection brewing. Anyway keep checking for redness, scales, etc and if it´s not gone in a day or two, go to a doctor. It´s always better to check and that everything´s OK than not to check and have an infection!

Yes that does mean that it is healing :) Just keep watching for any irritation or sign of infection so you can take it out immediately to avoid staph infections. Other than that good luck with your new piercing :D

yes, it could be healing. make sure you keep that area clean and try putting some antibiotic cream like neosporin on it to be safe
