performing artist?

What do you call those people who dress themelves like statues,stand very still, and then scare someone? Because I'm kind of interested in learning how to do it.

Don't know what they're called, but we have a guy near where I live who wears silver clothes(quite old-fashioned) with silver hat &,shoes & silver face/hands make up. He stands very still ni the main street with a metal cup in front of him. If people put money in his cup he changes position. Can you stand perfectly still for long periods?
