I've been accepted at Vassar College. What would it take for a school like them to withdraw their acceptance of me? I'm talking about second semester grades. How bad would I have to do to not go to college next year?

If you got any D's, they might reconsider.

well i think you need to ask yourself FIRST, is if you want to go to colloege at all. Then is Vassar the right college for you. As far as your second semester grades for high school, I would think your overall GPA and class standing would have to drop significantly. Also, I think that when your final transcripts are sent to your college before the semester starts, it's in Vassar hands to either rescind the offer/acceptance or place you on the remedial track. I highly suggest you continue to work hard and not let your grades slip. Your high school grades and accomplishments are your most valuable assets entering upon college, and as you continue to complete your degree your resume and list of attributes will expand. If you fail yourself now, who knows what direction your self esteem will take and your drive and willingness to become a better person.

Some people feel the same way after they've been accepted at a college or have a job lined up before they leave college. This was my situation, and yes I could've slacked off and just maintained the minimum gpa, but i chose otherwise, because this reflects your work ethic, which you will build upon leaving H.S. You should really think about the consequences of doing poorly the last semester of H.S and talk to your guidance counselor if I don't answer your question.

Sounds like you are planning to fail so you probably will. It is a little late to be asking your question. Your question should be "If I knuckle down until graduation, will I still be able to balance out the bad grades? Seems foolish to me to waste acceptance at a prestigious school to have a good time in high school and flunk out. AND while you are busy at McDonald's, the man of your dreams will be at Princeton dating your would-have-been classmates. uh-huh

it might not effect you if you have already been accepted but why would you want to screw it up now. You don't have to be a loser just because you are a senior.

just try to keep at the level you were when you were accepted, if you do terrible on finals it will just reflect what your college life would be like.
