If he is the holy trinity as some Xians say meaning he's god, then why didnt he use his godly powers to stop the torture? He also knew he was going to commit suicide by making his divine information known to the masses. Why do you say he died for our sins, if he died for his own?

Jesus could have stopped his execution, but he didn't, because he LOVES us. Jesus offered himself as a sacrifice in order to save our souls from eternal damnation. Jesus became man and came to earth in order to save humanity, that was his mission, and with his resurrection, he completed it. Jesus was sinless, so he didn't deserve the punishment.

Jesus assumed the position of sacrificial lamb to redeem us from sin and its effects. Only a person of the same moral stature of God could take that place. No animal, bull . sheep , dove could restablish the relation between God and humanity except his only son. Also there was no need to aboid being killed or tortured because he resurrected at the third day just like the scriptures say and by his own power.Jesus is the author of life who could take life away from him? Or do you think that the many miracles included in the bible are a mans work.Surely not . Only god can raise a dead man from the tomb, only god can heal using only his words, only God can make a crippled person to walk or a blind man to see.Blessed are those who believe without seeing , Amen.

You are missing the point here and not listening/ Jesus did not take his life.. others did. He did it to TAKE ON OUR SINS and suffer so we wouldn't have to in the end.. For three hours he took on all the sins of the world. Disease, hate, pain, all the bad feeling one can feel. The world was pitch dark so that no one could see him at this time. The image would be too horrific. Jesus died for us so that when we die, our sins wouldn't be with us since Jesus took them all away from us and all we have to do is ask for forgiveness and we are forgiven and the slate is wiped clean for us. That is what He did for us... and for you. Yes He could have stopped the torture but He didn't. He felt what we go through, He felt the sin. (Jesus was sinless) He loves humans and sacrificed His life for US.

Riot Girl, no, Jesus did not kill himself! He went willingly with those soldiers! His entire purpose was to come for our sake and to be the one to redeem HIS creations! Redeem= to buy back! Jesus, came and He was sinless in the flesh! Even Pontius Pilot told the people of the court that he found no broken law by this man! So, you're wrong about His sins! He had none!

That was the purpose for shedding His own blood! When sin was introduced in the Garden of Eden, man could not be one with God as God cannot look upon sin. After God gave mankind chances after chances to turn away from sin, He saw that it was never going to happen!! That is why He sent HIS Son! He was a sacrificial lamb and anyone who believes and accepts HIM can indeed, be one with God again!

So, you are very misinformed as it was God who sent Jesus because he loves all of us and wants that one on one with each of us...including you!

Please read more scriptures before you post something so terrible about the ONE who came for your sake!!!!!

I think you have Jesus confused with Judas!! Or, are you Judas??

He didn't commit suicide. Most people know this. He didn't use His supernatural powers to stop the torture or His death because that's why He came to earth in human form. Because He was sinless and perfect, He filled the requirement for a sinless, perfect blood sacrifice to pay for the sins of mankind. Love carried Him through with it; love for you and me and all mankind. He certainly didn't die for His own sins, as He had no sin of His own; but took on the sins of us all (past, present, future sins) and gave His life to redeem us.

Not really...A divine being cannot die, therefore him dying would be impossible. However, if the stories are to believed,it would seem he practiced some bizarre form of masochism while he was here.So ,if there really was a Jesus Christ,he was one kinky s.o.b.

That's an interesting interpretation, but taken from a very limited point of view, I fear. There's alot more to it, and a little research would show this to you, along with a few problems regarding your definition of Jesus...

Jesus did not commit suicide,he rather, gave his life as a ransom for many...."Greater love has no man than this, that he would lay his life down for his friends"...

He did not take his life.....He gave his life.

The stupidity of you people never ceases to amaze me, sometimes. You could get slapped to the ground with the truth, and still get up and have it wrong. Lord, where do y'all come from?
