I cant walk down the street where i live without being hassled by some Christian evangelist preaching to me about how Jesus died for my sins and if I don't live my life by the bible I am a bad person. I used to find the situation quite amusing but it's becoming a real pain in the @rse now. What gives these people the right to tell me what I can and cant do whilst walking down the street? What's that all about?

Have you ever considered that maybe it's God who's trying to get your attention, and not these people? that maybe it's just possible that God actually loves "you" so much, that He doesn't want you to give up on Him, so He causes you to run into to these people every where you turn and nudges your conscience, just a little bit, ? That maybe the real reason you feel bad inside has nothing at all to do with these people OR being religious??

That it could be because God "wants" to be apart of your life? Otherwise, if you don't believe any of it, it couldn't make you feel anything, right? There must be some truth to it, if your conscience is clear, you should already feel good about who you are & what you do with your life, If you're not doing anything wrong and you've made your peace with God, then nothing anybody says to you, whether it's a christian or a fool on the street, could even faze you in the slightest amount, right?

I cannot believe that you people do not see through the person asking the question. He is full of it. Have any of the rest of you been so hassled by Christians? If your family is Christian but you are not, you are likely to get witnessed to, and perhaps your closest friends. But I do not buy for a second that this moron cannot walk down the street without being hassled.

I would bet that this is the reverse of the truth and that he goes out of his way to tell Christians that he is an atheist and looks for a response and for the opportunity to tell them that God doesn't exist.

Just tell them to leave you alone. Personally I'm always nice to them until they get nasty. Then I just kill them with more kindness which really pisses them off. I guess because if you don't throw a fit at them while they are throwing a fit at you it makes them madder.

Open Thought's, my neighbor who didn't even know me and knows none of my family tried to witness to me. So don't tell me they don't.

I had two older people show up at my door ( at dinner time) and start about reading the bible. I was very nice and told them I was not a christian. The woman looked at my pentagram and said oh are you jewish? I said no ma'am. It went down hill from there. She started getting nasty and the old man who stood behind her just smiled. She started insulting me and I just smiled at her. Then she said well I forgot you never READ the bible. I smiled and said did I ever say I hadn't read the bible. She was so flustered she wheeled around and left. I said goodbye to the older man and hollered after them to have a nice day.

These people didn't know me, I'd never heard of their church. They were out just knocking on doors. I find that repulsive.

The devil makes them do it... or lack of brain cells. Just think of them like you do bums on the street. I am a Christian and I apologize for the behavior of some of my brothers and sisters. I don't want you to feel bad. I want you to enjoy life, truly love and care for others and be kind to yourself. Peace... here is a daisy.. ;-)

And for the ones above me here that say that this doesn't happen on the streets. Yes it does. The bigger the town, the more it happens. And it happens on college campuses too. When I went to college you could never walk across this one bridge that they didn't yell at you and everyone passing. And at any gathering, art festivals, music festivals, they are there. Telling them that you are a Christian doesn't always help either. Then they want to give you their literature, etc. I hate to be rude... but... gosh!!

they feel as though it is their duty to save as many souls as they can. most of them mean well. but others forget that God gave everyone free will. they forget that a person isn't going to allow themselves to be forced into something that they don't believe, this will just drive you away more. they stand in the summer time at the bus station and preach outloud the Bible, so it happens where i am too.

It's called free speech. And they only tell you what Jesus did for you because they are trying to help their fellow man before it is too late. They should not try to tell you how to live, as everyone is human and everyone sins. You are not any better or worse than they are. But someday everyone will have to answer to who they think Jesus is.

What street do you live on?

I never had a Christian harass me on the street. I got saved through my family.

Sorry if you are made to feel bad, that should not be the case.

Not all Christians do this. There are many different sects. What gives these people, this sect, the right? Free speech...the best you can do is ignore them, and if they become overbearing and a public nuisance, you can call the police and have them removed.

Whatever to them. I'm 21 and I have only been to (random churches with friends) MAYBE 8 times. I'm not even baptised nor do I pray to God/Jesus eveeeeerday, or read the bible etc etc. I am who I am..and if somebody doesnt like me, then fine. I'm not going to change who I am.

The same right that allows you to go to hell and complain about it, gives us the right to try to save some of you poor souls.

Sounds like you've rejected the gospel enough to be given a break. Here's a coupon for a set of asbestos pajama. Knock yourself out. Say hello to Hitler, Dahmer, Buddha, Mohammed, and all those other good folks who will be there with you..........oh, never mind, you'll be screaming in pain and trying to breathe. Sorry.
