Jehovah Witness's because it takes them away from God, they can only focus on God and nothing else

Everyone was correct to a point. Jehovah Witnesses are correct in this. Though I am not one. Every denomination holds some truth. They happen to be correct in this. Birthdays are pagan.

So many things we treasure in tradition are not Christian in origin. Sorry , even Christmas. December 25th is Sun day the day the sun is closest to the earth. Some 1200 years ago the Catholic pope wanted to have a mass for Christ and chose a Pagan holiday Dec 25th.

We Christians embraced this day and still do.
When Jesus was born the Shepards were in the field, even until this day , there are no shepards in the field in winter.

The only problem with Jehovah Witnesses , there is no reasoning. They all believe the same thing and can't see that their Gospel is a Gospel of works not Grace and deny the Deity of the Christ.

They believe that Jesus, (Elohim) the creator is a creation, Michael the arch Angel.

This is why we must be open to Gods word and that there is no higher authority.

As most people on here said, we do not celebrate anything that has a pagan origin. ““Touch nothing unclean” (Isaiah 52:11). We do celebrate other things, but like I said, we make sure that the customs associated with the celebration don’t have a pagan origin. As far as birthdays, the Bible doesn’t put birthdays under a favorable light. The only birthdays mentioned in the Bible are from two people who did not worship God, and in both, someone was killed (Gen. 40:20-22; Matt. 14:6-10). Also, the early Jews and Christians of Bible times did not view these celebrations as something good. “The various customs with which people today celebrate their birthdays have a long history. Their origins lie in the realm of magic and religion. The customs of offering congratulations, presenting gifts and celebrating—complete with lighted candles—in ancient times were meant to protect the birthday celebrant from the demons and to ensure his security for the coming year. . . . Down to the fourth century Christianity rejected the birthday celebration as a pagan custom.”—Schwäbische Zeitung (magazine supplement Zeit und Welt), April 3/4, 1981, p. 4. We do not want to insult God by celebrating something that has a pagan origin. So this is the reason we do not celebrate birthdays or similar holidays. That would be the Jehovah's Witnesses sect. They believe that since only two birthdays are mentioned in the Bible, of pagan rulers, and that an execution took place on both, that it indicates God's disapproval of the practice of anyone celebrating the day of their birth. They believe Jesus was probably born around Oct. 1, and that the Christmas celebration is also of pagan origin, and thus disapproved of by God, as are all the other holidays. Ironically, they somewhat inconsistantly give Anniversaries the green light, or so it seems to me.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not recognize any Holiday doe to their religious beliefs:
Among Jehovah's Witnesses, there is an avoidance of practices considered to have nationalistic or false religious origins.
Weddings, anniversaries, and funerals are typically observed. Common celebrations and religious or national holidays such as birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are regarded as pagan and not celebrated.[58][5 -wikipedia

I am Jehovah´s witness according to the bible in Eclessiates 7:1 said : A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one’s being born.
If you look in the bible you will notice that before Christ none of God ´servants celebrate birthday party Jesus set us an example that is why even do the date of birtday of Jesus is in the bible he never command to celebrate it,he didn´t do it also his followers didn´t do it, in the whole bible there are only two birthday the first one in Genesis 40:20 and the second in Mark 6:21 in both there were a party celebrate with a great party and in both someone die. Of course we are glad when a baby born but what we don´t do is celebrate parties because is and ancient custom mixed with astrology and superstition, the cakes and candles were used to stay away bad spirits. Look for this book Lore of birthdays and verify the information.
By the way Jesus´s birthday is Tisri 15 but Jesus never command his follower to celebrate it.

I do not know what other religious groups do not celebrate birthdays. Yehushua is the correct way to pronounce the name most people call "Jesus" in the Hebrew language, so he is possibly a Messianic Jew. We do not celebrate different occasions for different reasons. Many holidays do have Pagan origins and are celebrated as "Christian" such as Christmas and Easter. It is not wrong to do things Pagans do; they eat and sleep also. It is wrong to do as a religious practice what they do or did as a religious practice. We choose to not celebrate birthdays for a number of reasons, the main one being that everything recorded in the Bible was put there to teach us. (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17) No servant of God in the Bible is recorded as celebrating their birthday; only those who did not serve him. There are only two occasions in the Bible of a birthday celebration, and on both occasions someone was killed. (Genesis 40:20-22; Matthew 14:6-13 & Mark 6:21-29) Now why would God have these recorded unless it was to show his negative view on birthday celebrations?

Yes, it's jehovah's witnesses but its real origin backs to some shaman religions in South America (Specially peru and mexio), and They don't celebrate it because they believe that a child in fact is a soul that comes from a higher world (soul world) to this terrestrial world so he is a stranger out of his real home and he's sad, so they don't celebrate his birth to honor this sorrow and vice versa, when someone die they celebrate because they believe that soul comes back to his home.
