I am white, my husband is african and I 'm expecting my baby girl any day now. I know her hair texture is going to be different than mine and I need to know what to do to take care of it. Do I need to put oil in it, how often to wash it, types of brushes, styles, etc... Any information will be helpful. Thanks!

I have never handled ethnic hair;but it shouldn't be a problem. If you know anyone who is of african origin and has recently had a baby,it would be better to ask that person, since they might know of newer and better methods and products. If not,you will certainly meet mothers of african ethnicity in baby and child product stores who would be happy to chat and give tips.Tips from your husband's side of the family could also help.

The best tip I have for you, though,is enjoy every minute with your baby girl while she's inside you and when she jumps out:)

I'm white so i don't know what to do but I suggest asking your husband (african american men have to oil their hair too). Or talk to your husbands family. I'm sure his mother has taken care of some "ethnic" baby hair in her time.

There is no way to tell what texture of hair your baby will have.

It can be just like yours, just like his, or anything in between.

It will certainly change a lot over the first twelve months, too, so you won't be able to count on whater it's like the first few months.

You will need to befriend a member of his family who can help you with the hair. No soap, extra conditioning, and infrequent washing (to avoid stripping natural oils) are good starting points.

yup, do not cut back them coz they're going to advance obviously and develop into unnoticeable...i discussed that there is a level at the same time as those toddler hairs advance yet only for the period in-between...basically be affected individual...attempt utilising hair spray to point them with something of the hair.
