I have seen beauty,
On a wrinkled face.
In a broken body,
There too lies grace.
The blind see things
As we cannot see.
In a paralyzed body,
The soul is free.
The deaf hear secrets,
They will not tell.
There is more to life,
Than just this shell.
Among the bitter,
You will find the sweet.
Pain and pleasure combine,
To make life complete.
What appears simple,
Goes deeper still.
Look past the obvious
To know if you will.
Hear the music in silence,
Open your heart and mind.
Mysteries and wonder
Wait for you to find.
Dive into the struggles
Meet them face to face.
Remember all that we receive,
Comes purely from Grace.

It's beautiful. There is always beauty in so-called "darkness", and there's always more beneath the surface than we realize. What seems like adversity often leads us to other ways of knowing, and takes us on paths we wouldn't have normally embarked upon. And the last two lines are quite true. Thanks for sharing this.

Great poem, shows you think deeply about things. Remember that what we feel and poetry do not always go together. Some of the best poetry I've ever read says more about the soul than about the rhyme.

You are however, deeply touched by others, as am I. I do appreciate a true spirit.

Be Blessed..

Excellent sentiment and well elucidated. A tad long though, but balanced. Of you it shows a little of a warm kind heart that I know you have.

I hate to encourage this so I'll get right to the point - it's dreary. I don't know what part of the planet you're on but where I am, it's late afternoon, time to get the bbq going.

Look, just so's I don't sound like a total downer, bring that smiling face over to the bbq...you'll be able to smell it.

I feel like you wrote this. If you would like to publish it and any other poems of yours, it is really easy and very cheap (about $80 for a book of Poems) on Lulu.com --- No, I do not work for LuLu. If you would like, e-mail me, for any questions. -- ??

If you wrote it, it is very, very good. Did you write it? It is very profound, and true. If you are the author, you have real talent and should write more like this and publish.
